Scenarios.........?
Anyone else notice this in the updated FAQ? It used to say the game would ship with 12 scenarios, now it says.........

How many scenarios will ship with Civ III?
We'll release more specifics on scenarios and maps in the upcoming weeks.

Well when you consider that maps may be counted as scenarios if it has about 8 maps and 4 scenarios ( not unreasonable goals ) then it will obtain their quota.
If they said they were going to have 12 and now they're not saying how many they could still be planning on 12.
And even if they're not they're shipping it customisable and with a scenario editior menaing that before it even ships in the UK I'll be able to download scenarios some of the scenaios the maybe-possessing-a-little-too-much-free-time americans have made.
So chill.

I am chilled. I was just pointing out that the vagueness level had gone up; usually it should go down closer to release. Anyway, I just got back from reserving my copy at EB (and confirmed it will be in-store October 31st).
By the way, it is shipping in England the same day as the US. So don't expect any "maybe-possessing-a-little-too-much-free-time americans" to have created scenarios for you when it arrives.

Sweet
I was thinking of tinkering with the Editor, when it comes out. Mmm 17 days, is that for U.K as well ?

Maps are NOT Scenarios

Ain't that the truth, but a few Earth maps would be appreciated as well as full blown senarios.
With Sid on board they should include the American Civil war. But the Napoleonic senarios were always my favorites in Civ2 along with a Peloponnesian War one I built several years back for a friend.

There are only 2 scenarios I think that are the most important...if any to include in civ3, WWII and The Roman Empire. of you course you could break the roman empire down to 3: 1. The Fall of Rome. 2. The rise of Rome. and 3. Rome at its height. then again..you could also break down WWII into literally tons which could include: the rise of the nazi's. the african campaign. D-Day. etc. etc.
anyway, I just think the game should come with 2, the Roman Empire (at its height) and WWII.
the rest I will make up after I get used to the editor.
one last thing...I think the editor should come with a huge package of different units that you could use in your own scenarios, that would not be in the SP campaign.
my favorite scenario I ever built was Lord of the Rings. though with civ2 being the way it was, it kinda sucked, not realistic. but now that civ3 has all new features and crap, I will re-build it and it will kick some @$$.
ps. just so you all know, I am the same guy as diablo, bro. of mephisto...I had to re-register do to e-mail tech. problems.

Hmmmm... they better include 12 scenarios or tell us about the situation NOW. It's not right to say you're gonna put something in the game and then take it out without telling customers.
