I Held The Box!!!
...it was in my hand at a local software store, while I was at a mall getting some 8-sided dice for a board game that my son is making. (The store wasn't EB, but something along those lines - it had Software in the title though.
One of those fold-out panels with some screenshots, and some quotes from the various gaming magazines (including a quote from TIME). It had a screenshot of the diplomatic relationships which looked cool. (It may have been posted earlier, but I haven't really looked at all the available screeshots online)
All of the leader pics too.
Too bad the box was empty, and it had a 'Coming Soon' sticker on it.
Oh to be teased like this...
...and I have to wait until at least my birthday/Christams to get it, since I am notorious for not having anything on my gift list - and I want nothing more than civ3 or Stronghold for presents. (One game for my birthday, one for Christmas)

I would have felt like that too if I didn't follow the Dukenukem Forever forums, where some people have already seen empty DN4 boxes

Reminds me of South Park
Cartman; "Yes, I've seen the terrance and Philip Movie. Who wants to touch me............I SAID WHO WANTS TO TOUCH ME".
Then some kid touches him and goes "Ooohhh"

Yes, I held that box too, in software etc. today. However, I noticed that some of the screenshots on there were really old, such as the shot of the tech tree with placeholders (the T's in circles).

My friend is offering me a job at Comp USA.
Hopefully I too will be able to touch that Holy Grail of computer games before everyone else does
And maybe I can steal a copy, too. I wouldn't mind losing my job for Civ III a little earyly. And don't worry, I live right near DC, I'd drive up to Firaxis HQ and hand them their money! I want Civ IV (and MP to some extent!)

Some people already have the game. Somehow they got advanced copies, bastards.
BTW: i heard somewhere that the pre-orders would go out before it was sent to the stores

My point is... Well looking at my post I don't think I actually have a point. Buy anyway, I want Civ 3, too! That's all I'll be doing for the next few years. I might have to repeat my senior year a few times...

Pretty amazing that the game we've all been waiting for for all these years will be in our hands in 2 weeks. It's the calm before the storm on these forums!
