Rising tension on Civ III
Only 12 days (GMT) left to the arrival of Civ III.
But what the heck is going on?
Apolytoners are trying to insult each other;
those who are pessimistic and those aren't,
line up in different groups. The closer we get
to the magic date 28.10, the more personal
threats are posted (I have been shelled too).
Wouldn't it be time to stop this bloody useless
combat, and instead plan the new Civ III era?
There's lots of things that hasn't been discussed
in depth. Jeeze! Is it really fun to argue about
the game all the time?
For instance I'd like to know if the Ape forums
will be changed after the release of the game?
New groups for Civ III? Will "The List" group
disappear?
I know that this is perhaps OT, but when I tried
to start a discussion on Civ II's 5-year-long regime,
I was almost ignored. So I post this topic here,
because everyone seems to be so interested about Civ III.
Or at least they want to have a Wild West styled
saloon fight.
OT: For the moment I have much greater
concerns than the cons of Civ III, so I'm not
going to argue about this anymore.
What could be so important?
I can't pay my Civ III BTE!
P.S. I know that this doesn't perhaps look like a
discussion thread, but more like an attempt to get your
attention.

The most humane thing woud be if Infogrames would bring the release date forward to October 17th.

I'm sure there will be several new Civ forums spawned once the game sees daylight. Even CtP2 had lots of active forums in its heyday
The List needs to be kept in a corner somewhere - we'll want to dust it off and have a good read when Civ IV opens for discussion (Aaargh!)

My group suggestion for Civ III are...
Civ III - Common/Help
Civ III - Strategy and advices
Civ III - Scenario playing
Civ III- Creation and modification
Civ III - Future
(Civ III - Multiplaying)
Specs:
Common/Help - compare to Civ II - Common/Help.
Strategy and advices - like the Civ II - Strategy,
but includes advices (tutorials, hints,...).
Scenario playing - common about playing
the scenarios (questions, tips and tricks,...).
Creation and modification - creating new scenarios and
modifying the game.
Future - debates on the MP support, the expansion pack and
other new things to come up for Civ III.
Multiplaying - compare to Civ II - MP, would be
created after the release of MP.
And outside this...
"The List" could be moved into the archive
and after that, the group could then be removed.

You think you have it hard, you all all get the game on the 28/10 I and all my fellow Brits have the wait till 28/12 Can you believe it, it's going to take them two months to convert American English to British English So if you think waiting 12 days is hard try waiting two months, while every one else is playing it and you have to wait?

I'd rather the common/general forum was clearly distinguishable from the troubleshooting help forum. The Arcanum board was misery for weeks before they segregated the troubleshooting elsewere. Of course if Civ III installs perfectly we can close troubleshooting down after a week.

That is rather crazy that you have to wait for 2 months for the release of the "British" version! I could understand if you were getting the French version - but America and England speak the same language! (unless, of course, they want the Civ3 charactors in the UK version to have a British accent...)

1) lets see more actual civ3 discussion instead of discussion on the discussion, shall we?
2) There will be these new forums on the release date
Civ3-Strategy
Civ3-Creation
Civ3-Help
3) the Pan-European release date is November 17th (according to Infogrames)
