How are you expected to concentrate at work when..
..you have just built Leonardos
.. you have an army of Knights and diplos mobilising to the front
...you are 2 turns away from SoL and Magellans
.. you have identified the perfect landing site (on a mountain) for a behind-the-lines attack on two unwalled enemy cities and cut off reinforcements from the main target city
..and then you have to save the game, go to bed, and come to work in the morning. And I'm expected to be productive!! Not fair!

Those pesky employers are always expecting us to have a clear head at the office! I stayed up past bedtime last night to play the "Alba de America" scenario. Now I can't think straight.
...just one more turn...

Reminds of playing Civ II in the school library.

We have to earn the money to buy the next version, then the MP version, then the expansion pack. Doesn't mean we have to think about work all the time, but work is the second-most significant distraction. In many cases, the wife (and/or family) is the major distraction. THEY want a piece of the non-work hours!

I suppose so. At least I'm not yet dreaming of Civ III when
sleeping or thinking of playing Civ II while having sex.

... everything is going well, you've planned carefully the path of your caravans, wonders are nuder project when, suddendly someone makes a "sneak attack"... You were waiting only for this, holding tonns of vet crusaders+diplos. But it's saturday night and you promised to exit with your girlfriend...
Can you stop to Civ?
Yes! Turn the switch off and you'll be able to remain with a girlfriend and a life full of Civ... (even if sometimes is quite hard....)
