Been very very slow for a while now. Horse spends far too much time on the OT forum.

only 3? what about my post on the other topic in this forum a little while ago? As for actual games, I tried a small world map and tried to use alliances and such - kind of goes completely against my agressive, isolationist strategies - can't say I have the hang of when to demand tribute and when to trade techs/etc. yet

I still play a ton of MP games... Deity, Raging Hordes, 2x production, very small worlds, no bribe cities... and it is still keeping me amused.
When no one is around, I do some of the challanges

Sorry SCG, 4 of us!!! it's hardly exciting though is it? Oh, there is Prometeus here too, so 5?!?! i remember when i was a young, pre 100 posts, there used to be a constant stream of people putting forth their opinions, not all of them good mind you, but those were the days...

heh, well until i make it through all the old postings, there really is a constant stream to read Well, unless Ming archives the stuff before I read it all I'm down to mid-march, 2000 in the strategy forum and if i ever get through that I may start reading back logs of this forum. Have to admit I'm finding duplicate threads back a couple months, which is why i haven't bumped up any of the older threads recently like when I first started posting. Anyway, out of curiosity, is there any way to see exactly how many posts one has? I'm looking forward to consolidating my control among surrounding tribes and becoming a warlord (maybe by november?)

SCG... just click on the "profile" button that appears on the top line of any post you make. It will show your profile, and the number of posts you have.

I'm here. That makes it six.
I've devoted some time on ToT recently. After initially being disappointed by it, I must now admit that it has grown on me. I'm still not much into those multiple maps, but the extended original game is good fun! Plus, I do fancy the graphics a lot. I'm using its 'normal game' setting to play standard Civ II games, replacing my civ 2.78. It's kind of like an expensive modpack. I don't think that it is very popular with most hardcore civ-fans, but with it now being available as a budget release, I would recommend that you give this game a try. There just is a certain appeal to seeing your foe's ships actually sink after you've torpedoed them.

Look at the time. 04:56 AM !! It's the middle of the night in the America's, they're not up yet. It's afternoon in Europe, most people are at work or at school. In Oceania, they are already going to bed again.

Sleep? what's that
MWHC... I've tried other games. I have a whole shelf full of them. I play them, beat them, put them away. Civ is still the only game I keep coming back to!

*Comrade Dan brings out a table, several deck chairs, a toaster, some spreads, a tea set with tea, and several packs of crumpets*
The game I'm playing at the moment is really annoying...
*sips tea*
...my population is unhappy, and I don't have the cash to keep the people happy. So my democratic government falls, every one of my 100 cities falls into disorder, and those with nuclear power plants blow up. Not only that...
*bites into crumpet*
...the Spanish cancelled the alliance, the Persians are marching down the continent and the support costs have increased, disbanding the troops on the frontier. If I can get out of this, I'll be the best leader since...me.
So, milk? Sugar?

Milk, no sugar. Thanks.
So, did you?
Also, how do you stop the butter running down your chin?

Simple. Don't have a chin. Ever seen a member of the British Royal Family with butter running down a chin? Nuh. Straight to the shirtfront.

I think I'll pass on the tea. never really liked the stuff for some reason (and I don't think its because of all my New England relatives either ) A nice cold glass of chocolate milk would be nice, though, so i can still get my milk and sugar

I'm here and it's a mighty rainy afternoon...
So pour me a real oldfashioned British cup o' tea, will ya'?
No milk, no cream, just sugar and a slice of lemon on the side!
I say, lads! Anyone for cricket?

Once again a thoroughly slow day here on the Civ2 boards!!!!!!! I have to say that i'm very nearly, almost there, on the edge, right on the verge, practically, just about, almost thinking about defecting to the Off Topic Forum, just to get some action!!!!! Where has everyone gone? Have we lost an entire countries servers or something?? Surely you all must still be out there? Anybody... Please? Somebody...

The only reason I'm still Chancellor Dan rather than Comrade Chairman Dan is because it's a better challenge...
And the trick is not to put too much butter on the crumpet...
