Did anyone notice the borders on the new screenshots? The borders pass through or behind forests!!!! GREAT STUFF!
The screenshots are super polished. They definitely look like the final product!

Sorry if this is covered somewhere else, but looking at the domestic advisor screen shot what is the hammer representative of?
And decimal points in the values now.. neat!

And battleships only bombard once per turn.
Also a couple screenshots show the city production as "Wealth."
Not sure if we knew this already, but cities can produce gold instead of improvements at a much earlier stage than Civ II (where I think you needed Corporation to produce "Capitalization").

Feh! It's genius! It's all genius!
As for the Samurai ( and to a lesser extent man-o-war ) did you ever even doubt it?
I'm a big buzzed about the French one. They probably just didn't want to make it a knight as they already had ( one? two ) knight based unique units.
How obviously the Man-O-war is a jazzed Galleon, but what is the Samurai?

I guess samuri is not a upgrade of swordman. 2 of them already. Maybe a more agressive version of knight? 5/3/2 requires iron only? Oops, then it makes 3 kind of Knights.

This is not particularly far fetched. It already sounds better than civ2 and as long as the AI works, it should beat CTP2. Besides it technically only has to be a smidgen better than everything else.

As much as I love the artwork on this game, the one thing I don't like are the leaders and advisors. Ghandi is not genius! And hasn't firaxis said that these can be replaced? If they can, that's probably the first mod I'll perform.

Yes, the effeminate cloth merchants gulping down a womanly breath of air upon first seeing my pink French civ doesn't do much for my macho Civ-image.

Does each civ have their own set of advisors? This has some potential if it is true. Hmm, time for fun with Kissenger and Nader pics ...

The screens look really good, don't they?
And isn't the French UU, the musketeer?

That is the kicker. It is going to resemble Civ I more than Civ II, which is a good thing. Civ 2 removed a lot of the great things of Civ I such as the palace and the replay. So it is nice to see them come back but since there is no MP, it is all going to come down to whether the AI is any good.

Again it will come down to AI.

I'm sure eveyone has noticed it already, but rivers in civ3 now flow along square borders rather than though the middle of squares. I'm going to assume that now there will be many more squares given a river bonus(commerce bonus?) than was the case with civ2.
