I'm just glad ( if we assume the F-15 is an upgrade of the Jet fighter instead of the stealth one ) that all the units are made obsolete by the end of them game, meaning no one will have a really big advantage in the last few levels/The levels after scoring ends.
Also I think Firaxis have done well with it. ( I think the French unit should be some kind of knight upgrade but I suppose there too many of them anyway ). Remember one of the features of UU is to trigger golden ages. I think Firaxis have chosen units which correctly represent the golden ages for the various civs.

BTW the Elephant is an upgrade of the knight like the Samurai and the Riders so it should go wherever they go.
Also you'll only develop the tech for Modern Armur near the end of the modern age so the Panzer will be with you for a good deal of that era.

F-15 = Fighter, B-2 Stealth = Bomber; F-15 will never be obsolete.

I think the modern civs will do just fine early on. You have to remeber that the UUs are that much more powerful than a regular old unit, just +1 to a stat. So its not that difficult to fight them off. Also war isn't as big so military power is as big of a determinant to the end game. If you play well you can have just as high of a chance to reach the end of the game as another player with an early UU.

The F-15 isn't a stealth fighter. Its just a regular old fighter. There are two current stealth fighters the F-22 and the F-117 (plus many secret ones i guess) so the F-15 is most likely a normal jet

I am not sure, but the F-15 is not a stealth fighter. So the F-15 figther (Americans UU) will be replaced by stealth fighter?

well of course they're loaded in the past, that's when most history has happened-in the past
i don't think it's unordinary, just a result of so many civs having their best years so long ago.
i wonder what happened to the mig fighter?

Remember that there's more than one way to get a golden age. The first UU win is just one. Building a wonder (or wonders?) that meet your CSAs will also trigger a golden age. So if the Americans really want that ancient Golden Age, all they have to do is build the appropriate wonder.

I really bet that you will find that unique units, even with the prevelant ancient ones, will be irrelevant in the span of a regular game. As I have said many times before, unique units belong in scenarios where ALL units are customized/unique. I am glad there is the option to turn such stuff of for the regular game because I certainly believe that they do not belong there.

Well gee golly, I'm glad that you're glad!
I like the UUs, and like the way they have handled them. The fact that there are more ancient era UUs doesn't bother me, as the whole of 'modern times' has been very brief in comparison with the ancient periods.
