Birth of the Federation
Anyone notice how much alike this game is to MOO2?
Just started playing it again, and while its fun I find I get bored with it quickly. Anyone else have this problem with these sorts of games?

Have you tried any of the mods available for the game? I find that the Dominion Mod is the best.

God I hadn't realized until now how many of my favorite st-gaming sites have gobe the way of the dodo!

Dino, I tried downloading it and it seemed to replace some files when I unzipped it, but so far I have no evidence that anything has changed. The readme in the zip file was somewhat cryptic in how to install it.

seriously, it is exactly as he described it... really a fun game, cool music, nice features.... BUT:
1. annoying micromanagement
2. annoying ship movement
3. annoying combat arrangement.. you always go on hunts for enemy ships
4. almost impossible expansion / stabilization of borders when encountering an enemy... the whole outpost concept is so limited...

Doh! One of the bad games I have, fortunately it was given to me (I should had been suspecious).
It's so completely stupid, after I played an incomplete game as the Federation I wiped it off my HDD.

How can you play the mods when the sites you posted either have them in German, or don't have them at all (File not found, Page cannot be shown etc.)

Birth of the Federation had great potential, but was implemented very poorly and turned out to be quite a dull and boring game.
