Civ specific units
I've noticed that on some scenarios specific civs have units that only they can create, how does one accomplish this in their own scenario? And failing that, is there a way to say, make the german tanks look different than the american tanks, or perhaps blue tanks look different than yellow etc.

Ok. I think I can answer to this one.
You must provide that civ with a specific tech that only they can own. Let's say you create a tech called "American Weapons" or so. You give this tech to the Americans by using "Edit technologies", in the Cheat Menu.
You don't want germans to learn that tech, so you must take it off the Tech Tree. That's done changing the rules.txt, or in the Editor Menu, if you have FW. Go to Advances Editor and just switch to "no" in both prerequisites. Finally, you must assign "American Tech" to the desired Unit as prerequisite.
I hope this makes sense to you.

Definitely check out the above webpage for hints! I was stuck on making my new tech trees, which all made sense logically, until I checked that out. It turns out that the Civ2 rules file is a far more complex and corrupted thing than I imagined possible...
