Pop-up terrorism
I'm getting a bit worried about the pop-ups that start to appear when I'm surfing my favourite website.
The t-shirt was acceptable but the "great websites" thing is utterly annoying.

I agree with you , Magnus!
It's quite annoying!

1) the t-shirt pop-up is set to be displayed once per 48 hours (per visitors, determined by cookies)
2) the pop-up in the forums should not appear if you dont have one of the "special" styles.
due to a bug, your style setting might be reset at random times, at which time you can reset it by going to the "edit options" page on the forum control panel

The pop-up which caused me to write this came when I went to one of the new screenshots (from the homepage) and came again when I closed the screenshot. This repeated itself every time I went back to a screenshot or to another one. Luckily I have a fast connection and I haven't come across any on the forum, but it's a real turnoff.

That's funny; the shirt pop-up happens multiple times in any given session, and that stupid yellow pop-up happened every time I click back and forth through those screenshots.
These aren't "normal" pop-ups either; they pop-up in a new window even if the old window is still open.

Same here with the yellow pop-up and the screenshots. I have the 'special' style selected. It was very annoying...

yes, the civ3 screenshots pages have pop-ups, and it's irrelevant from the forum styles
hopefully the thought that you're helping this site survive by viewing them will make it less painfull.

I don't mind helping the site out but I do mind when it seriously gets in the way of me enjoying the site. The pop-up on the screenshot page was particularly bad.
How about having an option where people can give you a lump sum so that they can disable all ads?
