Anyone have any idea why the corruption in the "city screen" is so high. 564 gold out of 1105 going to corruption, and in a democracy. Phew!

 i dont know, weird huh?

From the map, the Romans are spread across half the globe, which means few cities are close to the capital, and if the Forbidden Palace was built early (and can't be rebuilt elsewhere? ) corruption would be high, though again, that does seem inordinately high. Maybe corruption is also higher in conquered cities until they get assimilated?

Sadly the editor doesn't support old scenarios made with Civ II but, given the additions to the game, that's not a huge criticism
|
Sorry to all the scenario guys, looks like you're at square one again.

The screenshot "simple menus" has:
regular (3/3) pikeman 1.3.1/1
I gather 1.3.1 is adm. And one of the first 3's is hitpoints. Whats that other mess?

Easy, take a spy to a city and then you can get them to join your civ through monetary conquest (stirring up a riot).

Firaxis Dan said that they're just army icons. The flag holder is not an actual unit, as much as showing the map that it's an army, not just a single unit.

PC.IGN
Mountains and jungles are also off limits to wheeled units unless they are traveling on a road
|
This is my favorite quote as it shows that a lot of work has been shown in giving the game strategy. Forests and mountain ranges really are natural barriers now.
Specifically, it makes scorched earth retreating behind a mountain range a viable defensive option. Damn cool.

Hasn't happened to me yet tonight, but PC.IGN has done that at random intervals to me before, they're just random advertisements, a good portion of which are about Civ3 though

Shows that Civ 3 will use a very sweet city governing system, that will compromize the governers dicesions.

I think that theres enough info here to complete Kyller's leaders thru the ages, and the list of wonders (Sistine Chapel is in and it makes people happy)

Little mention other then that cities can't be bought. Must not be that useful or incredibly toned down in strength as neither Civ3.com or any of the previews to date have mentioned it much.

Look at this.
Panzer's stats: 16/8/3... so it seems modern units are MUCH more powerful than ancient ones.
