EB To Ship LE Before RE?
The LE edition is now posted on EB website with a 10/29 ship date. Regular still has the 10/30 ship date.
I'll be calling the store today to see if they can confirm this.

I have an LE copy reserved at my local EB. It would be really nice if it came in a day early at the stores too. Normally I would call to find out, but some of the clerks there are incompetent so I'll wait until Monday to see if they're in!

10/29 -> Monday.
"shipping Monday" -> "arriving Tuesday".
... unless you're in Canada, when "shipping Monday" sometimes means "arriving Wednesday".

OK, I called 'em. The store listing (the one the clerks use) still has a 10/31 in store date for the LE.
I plan on pestering them daily to see if their in store listing gets changed. Even if it doesn't, AND the web site continues to list a 10/29 ship date, I will check out the store on 10/30 for my pre-paid pre-order. It is rare, but I have seen games make it to the store a day before the date the clerks are working from. I repeat, it is rare, but it has happened. 'Specially if corporate keeps the 10/29 ship date listed.

If the on-line date is correct, then most stores may not have been notified yet.
It's also possible that it's just a marketing scam to increase sales of the LE.
There was also one day at EB.com where they raised the price of the RE to 54.99?? Not quite sure what that was all about.

Well this has always been the case for me with EB, and I have been using their release dates for years now and I haven't seen an exception, and I always buy my games there when I want to get them at the earliest time. And it's nationwide, because you get posts from everywhere saying "I got such and such a game".
Come back Tuesday, and you will see it. Unless the LE switch is true and then you will hear the posts of "I got the LE!" on Monday instead.

In Canada, the RE is being released before the LE. RE is going to be released here on 31st of October, and LE the day after.
BTW, unless you've seen the thread, CIV 3 is being sold at $49.99 Canadian! For those Americans that live near the Canadian boarder, you'd be saving some cash by buying it here. At today's exchange rate, you could buy the RE version for less than $32 US.
This is the first time that I have ever seen a game sell in Canada at par with the United States. It's an incredible price!

Me, too--but don't forget, sometime in the last year, the EB web site switched from reporting the expected in-store date to the "roll trucks out of our warehouse" date. The difference is usually one day.
I don't doubt that some stores get stuff the same day, but I believe that the majority of U.S. EB stores won't get their stock until the day after.
