New units/ Techs
I have created several new units and techs via the scenario editor. What i would like to achieve is to play a regular game (i.e. random map and new civs) while using my new techs and units. Is there any way to do this?

Yes, but you have to be careful. First, go to your Civ2 root directory and make copies of your rules.txt, units.gif, cities.gif, and any other files you may have changed in making your scenario.
Put them somewhere safe. Now go to the directory where your scenario editor saved the stats for your new scenario, and cut and paste those files and put them into your Civ2 root directory. This ought to work. Things like events.txt and scenario special rules might not work in a normal game. But that's one way to play from 4000BC to 2020AD using, say, Imperial Class Star Destroyers and TIE Interceptors.

or you can have your units.gif, rules.txt on a scenario directory, start a regular game,
save immediatly your regular game into these directory, then reload the saved game.
i think it will work...

The problem with that is that the game will remember that there's a scenario setup. So if nothing else it will probably invalidate the score you get. (It will show up a red SCENARIO thingy.)

You can load any saved game from the "start scenario" at the beginning. When the window pops up to load the *.scn file, just change to *.* and load one of the *.sav files. I don't think it will load Scenario in your score. This is how I play with my modifications, rather than overwriting the files in the main directory.
