Iroquois and their land
Since Iroquois are the only tribe of North-American Indians present in Civ III, it seems safe to assume that they sort of represent all the North-American Indians in general. So here is an interesting question:
Would Iroquois be willing to sell their cities to civs like the British or the American for a couple of gems per turn? This would seem realistic, since some of the tribes did this in real history.
And the vice versa: If you are playing as an Iroquois, would other civs give you less payment for your cities than if you were some other civ?

no. thats a scenario. civ is about changing history. the english could show up with their little musketeers only to be blown away by the Iroquois stealth bombers.

Haha, they would still have to use wampums as currency, and we Iroquois are the only ones who know how to make them!

Civ is about recreating history, not replaying.
If you wanna play a Civ that doesn't believe much in territory, go right ahead. But they would not automatically do that. I would think that an Expansionist Civ is less likely to give you a city... at least I hope that's one way they would program the Civ traits.
What are the civ traits of the Iroquois? (too lazy to look them up)
Uber, British have Musketmen, the French get Musketeers

Almost. Hair's more blonde, though.
I love the "dumb tourist" look you gave me in the second photo.
As to the original topic, vovanism: why not have the entire game set then? The Greeks would always have higher culture than the romans, and would always defeat the Persians despite any advantages the Persians had. The English would be forced to ignore any German expansion eastwards. The Zulus would never be able to research anything past Iron Working, etc.
