Civ 3: Will you Rush to buy or wait a bit?
When are you going to Get Civ 3? I called EB and they will have it on the 30th they said. I will get up in time to catch the 9 am bus (thats very early for me) for the mall and rush back to play. By some strange coinsidence, I will be sick and unable to attend classes on Tuesday, and I don't think I'll be able to make it on Wed either... just like I was sick and unable to make it to my summer job the day Diablo 2 expansion came out. So will anyone else be "mysteriously ill? or just pick it up after work/school or even take your time to hear what people say before getting it?

I've already bought civ3 . I know its probably not the smartest thing to do, but I preordered it. Nobody with 30 miles of here will have it for several weeks, so I decided to get it delivered to my doorstep the day after it comes out . Assuming UPS does its job

Yeah, I didnt want it mailed to me.... I have horrible memmories of ordering a New Dell computer years ago, and just because of that, the UPS or Fed Ex or whoever it was decided to have their strike right then, and my computer was delayed by like 2 weeks.... Im scared because of some Anthrax scare or some other crap, my Civ 3 could get delayed, so I will personally go to the store and pick it up.

I'm going to wait for the reviews (other sites and here). I'll check these out for at least two weeks, and maybe not get it at all.

Well i could get it here in Australia even before it hits stores in US, but i would like to hear some feedback from people that have played it before i buy it, so i dont mind it coming out later.

I cant believe some people actually use reviews to help them in their decision to buy a game. There's always the return policy. Software Etc(where i preordered it) gives full cash refunds.

Btw, I expect the game on the 30th, but im gonna stop by on the 29th to see if it came in a day early.

I too preordered...I guess that falls under "rush out and buy" but without the rushing out part.

I may be a maniac of "making of Civ III the best game possible", I can pass myself of Civ for the next 40 years if needed. I guess I'll buy it when university courses are over. But I'll want to see the final product

My original plan was to wait and check reviews on gaming sites and Apolyton but I did a reality check and realized that if I see it on the shelf I know I'd buy it sooooo. As soon as I see it, I am getting it. Hopefully it's the BTE version but I'm not holding my breath....

I can't understand all the Civ fans who must wait and check reviews before buying the game. You're a part of the community and have read a lot of previews of the game and you actually believes that the game may suck??? You must be crazy

Best Buy opens at 10:00 AM...
I expect to have my copy of CivIII at approximately 10:03 AM Oct 30th.

But I do have a bit of a problem: my wife is going out of town and she is taking our only car, and she won't be back until Wednesday. Looks like I will be walking six miles to get my game.

I don't know if there will be a long line like there was for the likes of Diablo 2 and Baldur's Gate 2, but I will show up an hour or so later after the local EB opens so I don't have to deal with a potential hassle.

One of my pet peeves is that I really hate waiting in long lines.

I'm crazy because I have the patience to wait and not run out and buy a game the second its available? Wow. I certainly hope its a great game, and if it is I'll get it eventually. I'm in no hurry.

My wife already has instructions for Tuesday: Don't come home without it.

So Civ3 will be waiting for me when I get home from work. Hopefully my wife will still be around, too.

Naturally, I shall rush to buy it. However, since I won't be able to get it until 16th Nov , I'm gonna be forced to wait anyway...
