First; my pre-order has not been altered, so fingers crossed.
Second; if what they claim is true, they are being banned from shipping internationally by an outsider. That would be Infogrames or Firaxis. Has anyone emailed them to ask what they're thinking?

Dan's response to the issue is in another thread:
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=30895
This basically confirms what I previously stated: blame Infogrames.

Thanks. Shame on those that cursed Dan. You should apologise.
I am considering what to do if Amazon cancels my order. I may join the bargain bin team. I am pissed.

"Well, a vile stab in the back courtesy of Firaxis/Infogrames. This attitude of "america first" is belittling and very frustrating to all international customers."
Yeh, those French and their "America First" attitude really gets in my craw, too!

My e-mail conversation with them:
>Thanks for your polite response. I am still not so good at being
>able to read between the lines so the answer is that I should
>cancel my U.S. order because you won't ship my order to
>Finland?
Thanks for writing back to us at Amazon.com.
Unfortunately, it does say on the detail page of "Civilization 3": "Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S." so, yes, I am afraid you will have to cancel your order.
...
Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com.

Welcome to being shafted up the arse by Infogrames, who seem to be too incompetent to organise a simultaneous release. It is nearly a 3 week difference. And yet, when you try and get around it by shipping from abroad, they won't let you do this. Why? Very stupid!
Sometimes I think total and utter f**king idiots are in charge of these companies.

As I said I was only trying to provoke some useful response...I have sent infograms e-mails but they don't answer
Paws crossed hoping my copy of LE ships regardless of the confusing statement put out by Amazon...and remember it is nearly November the 5th so I can send anyone a rocket!
As per my sig: "I want the future now!" a future where I have civ3 LE!

It is now 30 October. My order at Amazon has not been altered. It still says Item Not Yet Shipped, same as it has said for a month. I am going to wait this out. If it hasn't changed on 1 November (allowing for time difference) I will email them.
If they cancel, I am going to ask why they didn't inform me earlier. I am not going to be a happy customer, given the sore arse I have now.

Dear Mads,
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com. I am sorry to hear that the
software you ordered will not reach you.
Unfortunately, pending clarification of federal regulations now in
place regarding the shipment of computer software products outside
the U.S., we have temporarily discontinued shipping software titles
overseas.
Please note that your credit card has not been charged. Since your order
will not be able to reach you because of the federal regulations I have
cancelled your order.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may
cause. We value your business and hope that you will continue to
shop with us at Amazon.com.
Best regards,
S. Walker

I've posted this elsewhere now, but I think this is the best place for it, especially as people are asking for updates.
My order status has changed to: Shipping Soon: We are preparing these items for shipment and can no longer change shipping and billing options for them.
We live in hope, indeed

They have moved my expected arrival date from the 7th to the 8th!
I'm hoping that it somehow gets here sooner.

I've received an e-mail saying that my copy of Civ3 has been shipped and will arrive in 2-6 days (average). So the game will ship to Europe and there should be no problem!!

It doesn't mean that the webshops will
deliver the LE to non Americans for sure.
So I suggest that every single one of us
would join The Bisquit Tin Coalition.
See www.the-bisquit-tin-coalition.cjb.net for more information.

E-mail from Amazon received just after midnight this morning - My order IS SHIPPED!! It spent 24 hours about to be shipped which was twenty four hours after I thought it should be shipped but hey, who's counting?! I am still excited that it's coming despite some negative stuff on the forum - of course, I shall do better! Ha Ha
Hoping yours are all shipped too,

I don't it's yet the time to cheer,
because no BTEs has still arrived to
customers in Europe or elsewhere
(expect US-Canada). And even if one
British apolytoner has been shipped
a BTE, that doesn't mean that all of
us will receive their copies. At least not yet.
For instance for some reason my
shipment's estimated date of arrival
from Amazon.com has once again been
moved forward with one day to 9.-16.11.
Amazon.com hasn't still replied to a request
for information, that I sent on the behalf
of The BTC hasn't been yet answered.
I'll post more details under the campaign
thread, when more is to be heard.
Until that - join the pro-LE group!
