What goverments will you make with the editor?
With only a limited amount of goverments to choose from im sure people will use the editor for a wide variety of goverments. I always like choosing facism, for my military conquest, and thirst for power and destruction. Ill probably create a theocracy goverment as well for that one religous nation. Maybe a tolitarian or dictator style goverment as well. And of coarse the virtual democracy from CTP for the futuristic america style goverment. I would say with the editor one could probably put restrictions on evil or fanatical style goverments like facism,tolitarian, etc to be restricted from the U.N. that would be cool.

Althoguh this has already been discussed on a thread entitled governments i'll post anyways, cuz there are plenty of people who probaly didn't see that thread.

The govs i suggested were:

Fundamentalism
Technocracy
Collective

I was hoping someone with the new strategy guide that's out would go into a little more detail about exactly how you get to edit goverments. Do you add goverments? or just change the ones that already exist. Do you get to put restrictions on the evil ones? ETC.

The characteristics in the editor are:
Prerequisite - what tech is required
level of corruption and waste
unit support costs
rate cap (upper limit on science)
worker rate - how fast terrain improvements are made
assimilation chace - chance a city will leave and join a neighboring civ
draft limit
military police
resistance modifier-how long captured cities resist before they start working for their captor
hurrying production - forced labor (human sacrifice), paid labor or none
war weariness
espionage bonuses and immunities
ruler titles
various other flags that weren't detailed...

Settlers and workers dont require food under any forms of government any more. Which is a good thing.

Ive posted this before but what the hell.

Fundy: Civ 2s version modified

Fuedalism: Despotism without the restrictions on resourses and a MUCH stronger army

Fascism: Civ 2's communism with fewer free units, low corruption (opposed to none) but some industry bonuses (have to see the editor to know what)

City state: Good science, good workers, High corruption, Medium amount of free units, and a high chance of losing cities to a better culture.

Oh yeah, slaves were never unhappy...

And why would corruption and waste be 0?

The only government I think I may add at first will be Democratic Socialism. It will have the benefits of Democracy minus the high unhappiness factors, and will be the last govt type one can obtain.

I'll probably create:

Constitutional Monarchy
Theocracy (perhaps in multiple flavors)
Democratic Socialism
Welfare State
Corporate State/Oligarchy
Fascism
Military Dictatorship (Pinochet-style)
Anarcho-Syndicalism (technically not a government, but it'd be cool anyway)
Anarcho-Communism (ditto)
Libertarianism/laisse-faire capitalism
Technocracy
Direct Democracy

After I've finished a few games of Civ3 and played around with it's features a little I'll probably spend some time creating a few dozen different governments which would fit well into different scenarios. WizardOcracy (rule of wizards), The Rule of Robots/AI (whatever you'd call that), etc. I would be interesting to split Communism into it's different varieties - Stalinism, Moaism, Castroism, Leninism, etc.
