Uhm not exactly, I start it together with Windows, so it always runs when my PC is on, but it reacts immediately when you're copying a CB, for example.

i have 110% util...but my employment rate is 70% and no matter what i build i can't get it higher...i guess i need more mines or something...banks.... just not more houses....what about farms will that get my employment up

Raise your draft

You just don't have enough jobs and since all buildings other than houses can hold the same amount of people, it won't really matter what you build.
If you raise your draft, you take people away from the unemployed area and put them in the military.

Faery...

Try this:
Start with defense specialists only (IIRC, they're called Magicians).
Focus yourself on training Wizards and Thieves. This means a building strat something like this:
205 - 300 acres
10% Mills
25% Homes
15% Banks
20% Watchtowers
20% Guilds
10% Towers

Make sure you end up with five Magicians per acre and roughly 1-2 Thieves per acre.

I have to go to work now, I'll try and give you a more detailed guideline tonight

Dont bother going for honor unless you have a strong kingdom backing you up. I was a Halfer Mystic stuck (as usual) in a newbie kingdom. I was very close to 4000 honor points, and then a kingdom full with big badass dwarves decided that they like me and arranged a small honor rape. I ended with 1000 points and quit.
The age before that I was an exploring Elf. That was absolutely boring but I learned a lot about maximising everything and being as effecient as possible. I quit during year 8 after getting 500kNW and deciding that the game is boring.
The two ages before my elf age were great newbie ages.

Conclusion :
A) When you're starting to devote too much time to the game it gets boring.
B) Being King sucks. Trust me, I've tried it for 3 times and it takes all the fun out of the game.

But I'll join now again. Maybe till the end of the age.

I didnt join yet. It'll take me at least two days to find the time to number crunch my strategy.

Btw, "All-in-one" is a very difficult strategy. Because then every good thief can steal from you and you cant steal from him, every good wizard can do whatever he wants to you and you wont be able to retaliate and every attacker will be able to attack you without being attacked in retaliation.

I'll probably be a Mystic Elf. I'll try to grow extremely fast until 2500 acres(hopefully it will take me 3-5 weeks) and then switch to either super thief or super mage. Depends on what kingdom I fall in.

200-500 Acres

23% Armories

This is a very preliminary strat though. I just looked on the changes made and wrote these percentages. It seems that I'll have some money problems, so everything is subject to change.

I disagree, with 6 tpa and 2-3 wpa, you'll stand very strong against enemy thievery/magic ops.
With 40 dpa all def. specs, you'll always have sufficient dpa standing @ home. (Especially with MP on.)
And I'm training towards 10,000 Half-Giant, which would give me lots of firepower

Of course, my utilization is absolutely horrible

Maybe you are right. I noticed some really big changes in the military part of the game so maybe my thinking is old.

200-500 Acres

0.25*25+0.75*20 = 21.25PPA
Money made-
15*3 = 45GPA
People left = 21.5-15 = 6.25PPA

Food eaten -
21.25*0.25 = 5.3125BPA
Food produced -
0.08*70 = 5.6BPA
Food stocked -
5.6-5.3125 = 0.2875BPA

Spec unit cost -
250*0.8*(1-0.2*2) = 120gc
Elite unit cost -
1500*0.8*(1-0.2*2) = 720gc

Since I have a bit less than 48 hours before I need to start training my military I didnt calculate my O&D numbers yet.
As usual I ordered to accelerate Towers, Guilds, Homes and Hospitals to start fast population growth earlier and cast L&P earlier.
