So what's your impression on my column?
Currently it looks like no-one else is interested.

I liked it! It was a good idea to summarize this, but I would never have thought of it(of course? )!

Thanks, Nikolai!
BTW, Mr Muprhy has edited my text.
It should be 31st October and not 28th. Sorry!

I must apologise for my lingual mistake in the column.
It should of course be "lost", and not "loosed".
AFAICS there's no other mistakes.

Nice summary, thoughtfully presented. With Civ III fever at full pitch, you probably won't get many responses. But those who read it will have their thinking tweaked by your reminders. Way to go!

and no way it lasts to/through a civ4
but that's just my opinion

Blaupanzer: Thanks for your support!
You're right with that Civ III fever;
no-one really seems to be interested
of Civ II anymore. Everyone is just
waiting for news from US/Canada from
those lucky firsts.
d_dudy: You might be right, but as
I said already in the column, it's impossible
to play Civ III with many PC's still in use
(not just talking of 486's and P100's).

Good point. I didn't include it, because I
wanted to stay to the original, "real"
Civ II from MicroProse.

naahh... civ2's death will take a while. by the time civ4 (if there is one in 5 years) comes out, there will be darn few people playing civ2 regularly. ther will still be some serious civ2 playing for at least a year.
but hey, some people still play civ1, you know.

I agree with Father Beast. I think that
the destiny of Civ II will be same as for Civ,
if there's going to be a Civ IV.

Civ2 will not die until there's a new heaven and earth .
Nice column Rasbelin.
Father Beast, I remember your column #138: TURN-BASED STRATEGY: THE THINKING PERSON'S GAME. It was great!! After all father knows beast. I especially liked the coffee part - I'm addicted too and get headaches if I don't drink.
