Can you export from Civ3 to Smac?
I remremebr reading that one idea for Civ3 would be the ability to export your civ to a faction in SMAC. Did anything come of this? (I'm guessing not as I havn't seen it mentioned anywhere).

I think they are two mutually exclusive games so I don't think you can transfer anything from Civ3 to SMAC or visa-versa. But it looks like the editor is pretty good so if you wanted perhaps you could make your own factions for use in Civ3.

Doubt it, the terrain engine as well as resource engine are probably so radically different that exporting from SMAC to Civ3 would be damn near impossible.

I remember in one of the Firaxian interviews, this, and other CivIII/SMAC correlating features, were canned due to it not really being that fun of an idea. Time constraints played a part as well.
IIRC, other factors were factored into the decision to fracture the faction crossover to 'Crossfire.
