I generally don't have much trouble with the Pirates until the age of Air Power. Even then, if the aliens are in, they end up being my most powerful ally (because the aliens kicked everyone elses asses).

As to the turn report, there's a little confusion in Comstr's turn sending. It'll be straightened out soon enough.

Doh!!!

I'm at work now, the turn will be in 8 hours from now. I thought I'd saved it under a differnt name, but then it said if I saved it again it would say I had tampered with it.

Q- would you want to play at some point over IP for a few turns (mabye just an hour or less) if we could co-ord the time?

I'm not sure you can switch from hotseat/PBEM to IP. Besides, I have other things I have to do between turns. PBEM is ideal for me. If it gives you the tamper message (as I mentioned in my email) just ignore it. We know the circumstances. That message is just there so that nobody can reload-replay a turn excessively without being found out (for example, to try for an ideal pod pop). Just get the turn moving. My first turn in a PBEM also triggered the tamper message (I'd been given the wrong password by the GM, and had to load it multiple times before I got it to work).

Yeah, you got it right this time. That confused me a bit my first time, also. But, it's moving on.

2103 sent to Aborman.

Exploration's going rather slow.

What are we to do about all these cursed worms, Provost?

I don't know, my friend. Are the scientists looking for a way of controlling or destroying them?

Not at present. Should I order them to change their focus? The loss of the colony pod has the people terrified to explore. We must do something.

No, allow them to continue with what they are doing. We will have to escort all pods after this though. Hopefully this won't turn out to be a major setback.

Scouts report a strange alien artifact on the southern borders.

No alien life forms spotted...but this area is so dry the worms probably need a drink too.

2105 to Aborman.

"Let's see what's just over that ridge." The rest of the patrol concurred, and the "patrol-nexus", what other, lesser humans would call the "commander," lead onward to the shoreline.

That was the last thing their collective mind succeeded in thinking coherantly. The terror, which they'd heard of in other communiques, swept over them. They'd walked right into a small nest of Mindworms.

Will they be overwhelmed by the psychic scourge? (Probably, considering they're not Spartans.) Tune in next time, same Cyborg-time, same Cyborg channel!

Sir...Sir....CONTACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Hmm..this world is smaller than I thought. Shall it be peace or war?

I keep the Peace. Through Force if needed (and on Planet, it's ALWAYS needed ).

(Hmm, I think I got the 1st City and 1st Bulding done..no worms sighted, and pod poping was lucky).

2106 to Aborman.

[i]Ironwood-Zeta-5 recieved information via his technological thingamajig. (sorry, couldn't think of anything better!)

It was a report from the scout unit at the southern edge. It seems they'd encountered a small nest of mind worms. The worms got the drop on them, but they managed to pull together, and suffered only nonfatal injuries.

Sir, it seems as if someone accidentally made premature contact with us.

Surely they know we can't talk until we actually meet? It was in the treaty, rules of engagement.

Sir, I suspect it was an accidental transmission.

Alright, but be wary. They might be on our borders. We need more information.

You forgot to attach the turn

As dor the other problem, I didn't know you couldn't (no mention in the game rules that *I* saw). Please ignore the communicae. I saw your name on the communcation list, so thought I could do it.

Yes, I forgot to put that in the start of this thread. I did mention it in the original call for players, but the original game idea was different from what we're doing in several ways. IMO, "no communicate until contacted" should be generally assumed; but, as I said at the beginning of this thread, I'm a novice, so I could be wrong about what's "generally assumed."
