Minor complaint about LE
The CDs come in cardboard!!! WTF. Does this also happen with the regular edition too?
Of course I blame this on cheapskate Infogrames. Geez.

Yeah That was bummer.. hoping for jewel case.. I'm a bit peeved at the tech tree . gee pretty small compared to the civ II chart. This is just a glossy bunch of screen prints.. Still handy but I could juat to screen capture of the Civolopedia and get the same result.
The Tin is NICE though..

Do you feel jipped by the LE?
Extras:
- Short 2 clips for "Making of Civ 3 CD"
- Puny fold out
- Tin "Chinese Moon Cake" Box
Played 8 hrs yesterday... seems good so far. Yet much to learn b4 fully enjoying/appreciating this game.

I'm also dissapointed in the LE. The only saving grace is the tin and now I really think about it what use will I have of that? Ahh, I suppose I'm just a pack rat and like collecting special editions, but I wish they would have done a DVD with art, the 2 movies, and other misc features.

Well....
For what's it worth I stopped into the local Software Etc. here in downtown Atlanta and they had 14 LE tin's and ZERO SE boxes.
I guess other people think the LE isn't worth the money as well...

I dunno if this applies to your Software Etc. ... but I bought my LE at a GameSpot (or GameStop, whatever) and they also only had LEs... when I asked they confirmed my suspicion that ONLY LEs had been delivered.
I guess that much in the same way that Star Wars Episode I came out on a wednesday at midnight to allow fans to see it sans yapping kids, CivIII may be distributed LE first for the fans.
The dude at G.S. said that all along they were scheduled for a delivery on the 30th and one on the 31st.
They did try to sell me the strategy guide and I just gave them an

Before i was really that infogames weren't shipping the LE to other countries any more, as "the US Market is more important"
But reading your report on the LE, im actually glad, its saving me money on a cheap product. Ill get the SE.... when it gets here...

I don't believe that there is an added/bonus scenario in the LE...

It would have been worth it if they gave us what they told us we were getting. If they gave us GOOD QUALITY things we were expecting. A tiny tech tree, and a CARDBOARD BOX for our CD?!? How cheap can they be, when we paid extra for the higher quality Civ 3 edition...
Well, glad im not able to get it now.
