Yes!!!
I just got the game today, and I'm playing my first game now (Chieftain, I want to get to know the game first ), the game seems ok (not even reached 1AD yet But I have found a few problems with the game:
I can't change resolution in the game (Does anyone know how?)
I can't play on world map, I say choose world map (scenario) and start game, but the game looks like everything but earth...Anyone know how to make this work?

If you had read the readme you'd see how to change resolutions.
But I'm a nice guy so I'll tell you anyway.
The best setting you want is:
KeepRes=1
that makes Civ use whatever your desktop resolution is.
Or you can add:
Video Mode=1200
or 1024, or 1152, or 800, etc. It's the first number in your resolution.
Or if you want to run it in a window, set KeepRes=1 AND add Video Mode=1024
Make sure the video mode is smaller than your screen res, else you can't see the window really.

Got it in Denmark already!? Wow. I haven't figured out the resolution change thing, but I know the "world" maps are nothing like the real thing. They look good in the radar window in the lower left, but the actual map leaves a lot to be desired.

I know what the readme says.... but as per a thread I posted in the Civ3 Help section... I can't get Video Mode to work.
KeepRes works fine. I set my desktop res to 1280 and with keepres the game plays at 1280.
But I can't get the game to play at 1280 while my desktop stays at 1024 by using the Video Mode thing.
If you've been able to use Video Mode would you please test this situation:
Set your desktop res to 1024x768
Have Video mode allow you to play at 1280 and then return to 1024 when you go back to Windows.
Thanks.

I haven't actually tried to change the game resolution yet but I don't think you can tell the game to run in a highe resolution than you have for Windows already.
Smaller yes, but not larger.

That's a good point.
When I get home I'm going to try to set my desktop at 1280 and then Video Mode for something between 1024 and 1280 and see if that works.
If that's the case then I guess we have our answer.
At any rate, a friend who has the same video card suggested I install this additional icon on my taskbar that allows me to switch resolution with basically 2 clicks. Given taht my complaints go away as I don't mind having to do something that simple before and after playing. I'll flex that much :-)
But I really wish they implemented a MUCH BETTER ZOOM in the game. I'm sure they have their reasons, but I truly hope their graphics are scaleable enough where they can provide us a couple of more levels of zoom further out than the regular zoom out (one that goes to full map, and one between now's out and full map) and one zoom between the current zoom in and current zoom out.
We'll see...
Alessandro

I pre-ordered my copy of Civ3 through Amazon.com a few days ago.
The suspension of when it's going to arrive is killing me.
It looks like writing my term paper is going to suffer this weekend.
