Speeding up building wonders?
Is there a way to speed up building wonders of the world? I got Civ3 several hours ago and haven't read the manual, but it seems like building wonders takes forever. I liked how you could use caravans in Civ2 to speed it up - does a similar thing exist in Civ3?

Also - the game crashed within the first 2 hours of play, anyone having similar issues?

AFAIK, the only way to speed up wonder building is by expending
a great leader. Caravans don't exist in civ 3; all trade is done in
diplomacy screen now.

LEADERS ARE RARE!!!

Use them for rushing only if absolutely necessary

For people who have the game:

Does disbanding military units inside a wonder-building city increase the amount of production done, as it does with normal building??

Nope.

Haven't tested yet to see if clearing a forest near a Wonder builder city works though....One neat thing is that clearing a forest adds production to the nearest city.

Damn. There goes my military convoy idea. Oh well. The forest production idea was probably covered by the programmers too, then. Good job
