The time line....
I have a question/comment for any scenario designers who work with MPG. Do you have a problem keeping your time line straight? For example, I want my scenario to start in the year 2015 and run for 300 turns. Now, I tried setting the start date using the scenario parameters, that didn't work. So I went through calculating how many turns until 2015. Not much of a problem, but then I switched from Deity to King and my start date wenth to 1969 (not a bad year, I was born in it) but not the wanted start date. Then I had to recalculate the number of turns that had gone by and the number of turns remaining. Very frustrating. Anybody else have this sort of a problem?

I have so many of these problems I don't bother changing the date anymore. Anyway it's not that important (In my mind).
But I can't give you any tips.

Well, I found out what my error was. If you use 0 as the turn interval (typical civ timeline) you can't change the start date. But if you put another number in, like say 1 for 1 year it will accept new start dates. So I finally have my scenario set to start at 2015 and end at 2315 for all difficulty levels.

Good job. How close are you to completing the scenario?

Well, I really don't know at the moment. I don't have a lot of time to work on it. But, I've got the units the way I want them, and I've made the changes I want to the tech tree. I've modified some of the improvements, still have one or two I want to change. And then there are the wonders, that I haven't worked on yet. Also I'm building up the civ's starting positions and adding some Barbarian cities to make things interesting. I'd say a couple weeks.

This sounds cool. What's it about?
I love futuristic scenarios. WWIII, Robots, etc.
BTW, if you set the turn interval to -1 or -2 that will change it to months instead of years.
This is good for if you want a short game in yearly terms but want it long in overall length, like 500 turns.

Well, it is a post-armageddon scenario. There are about 8 new units, 15 to 20 techs I think and I'm working on a few custom Barbarian units to make it interesting.
But what it is about is a comet hit earth (ever see Deep Impact or Armageddon?) and only a few nations survived the "nuclear" winter caused by the impact. You have to rebuild, reclaim, rediscover and win by conquering or AC. There are probably going to be five new wonders and others will be updated.
