Some Help with my Russian Scenario...
Can anyone recommend any good military "atlases" for the Russo-Japanese War or WWI? I am looking to find accurate numbers and pictures of units.
Also, (I think I asked this once before) is there any way I can manipulate the railroad to become an impassable object? The idea was to turn it into China's Great Wall. If not, any suggestions?
On a different note, I am still making Gregorian style flags, and if you need anything drawn, I'll get that done for you. E-mail me for samples.

I believe I once saw a book titled "The Russo-Japanese War". It was from Osprey-Military, either the "Elite" series or the "Warrior" series.
Those books have detailed information and are usually with color drawings of soldiers in uniforms and equipment.
You can also try their website. Simply use a search engine and search for Osprey-Military.

There is a Russo-Turkish War but I don't believe Osprey has anything current about the Russo-Japanese War.
I seem to remember that Alex Mor made some units for a Warlords III scenario, don't know if they are compatible.
As for impassability, make the wall air units with a move of 0. That way no one should be able to kill them. The only problems are that they generate zones of control and you shouldn't have fighters in the game.

If you don't have pollution and players aren't allowed to build new cities, you could make the Great Wall ocean squares and redo the pollution icon and put it ontop of the ocean squares making "The Great Wall". Just an idea anyway...

I think that it might still cause global warming (?) - b.t.w. - what's wrong with using Domain 3 units for the wall?

If you can get a hold of a copy of Age of Rifles there are several scenarios and a campaign involving the Russo-Japanese War. There are various units depicted and the icons are about the same size as the ones in Civ. I'm in no way suggesting outright theft of the unit icons but you should be able to use them for ideas and probable appearance.
While I don't know how accurate they are, it is an SSI game, from before TLC and Mattel got their hands on things, and they used to pride themselves on accuracy amoung other things.

I don't know if this is possible with ToT, but you can't do it with FW oor lower versions.
Meanwhile, I found a couple of maps: One is simply a political map of China, including Korea and Manchuria in the early 20th century- this might not exactly be what you want, a map of Mandshuko/Mandchuria showing the developement of the population, which might be interesting to make the scenario realistic (also contains trade goods), and finally a map of the war, showing all military actions in Korea, Mandshuko and the whole area, including campaigns, battles and so forth. The Russo-Japanese War was 1904/05, right?
Just one negative thing: All these maps are in German but I have no problem with translating the legends and texts within the maps.
