Border plea!
Firaxis! The AI needs more respect for borders. I can understand you don't want it being boxed in by players, and I don't mostly have a problem with them escorting a settler through my territory to find open territory on the other side. Mildly annoying, but not much.

But in the Industrial/modern ages, when there's NOTHING to settle, and 2 AIs are at war on opposite sides of a civ that won't give them a RoP treaty, they should respect that! It's not a matter of culture, or power or anything. The AI *WILL* go through your territory to fight a war. All you can do is tell it every turn to leave, but it comes right back. You can't even declare war because of it without being the aggresor.

Otherwise, you might as well scrap the whole border concept, because it just isn't doing anything.

What if YOU need to go through other Civ's land with your forces to attack someone and you cant get a RoP? You do the same, and this is why I think they did it.

I think they should go through if there is something that they want to get to on the other side, but they should try to take a sea route there first.

And also, when you tell them to get out, they should have to stay out for the standard 20 turns that most agreements follow.

No I don't. I negotiate a RoP to get there. Basically, I think the AI should use sea routes, it's certainly no slouch at it, unless it can get a RoP from you. Make it value it more when it's at war, but otherwise play by the civilized rules.

Or like the other poster posted, make non-trespassing a 20 turn agreement as well, which can only be removed by a RoP.

And if Firaxis could add THAT as a diplomatic option, another I'd like to see is the old SMAC option of asking civ A to stop it's war on Civ B. Obviously, if this would cause it to break a military alliance, it should almost certainly refuse, but if not, you should be able to buy (or demand if you're strong) peace.
