Why is this happening?
Ok. I am an advanced civilization compared to everyone else. On my continent there is only one area where there is rubber and the Russians have it. Our cities are completly connected etc (like I can trade them luxeries) but for some reason we can't trade resources, and I really need that Rubber. Why is this?? Thanks.

Maybe the Russians doesn't have a extra rubber? You need at least 2 pieces of each resource to trade it with others. You can check which nations have extra resources for trade from trade advisor (F2 IIRC).

Or maybe they haven't developed the tech yet, so they don't have any rubber. If they don't know it's there, they can't trade it to you.

That's pretty annoying 1 source of Rubber per continent.

yea except the one on my continent is a few cities in. And I don't feel like crossing the world to get it.
What ended up happening was the city that had the rubber rebelled and joined me. However I still needed to kill a 10 city with good defense to get it to the rest of my civ. Which I could of done. Except all my other troops were on the other side of the continent finishing off the Americans.
The game got complicated when the Russians and I in a Military Alliance both tried to take the last American city. They got it and I needed it badly so I attacked them and won. Then they brought a huge army in took 3 of my cities and then they got an alliance with the French and The Persians against me.
So, I have the french bombarding me with ships on one side the Russians attacking me on the North side and then here come the Persians with a huge Army and a Leader to group them all together. At that point (year 1997) I retired. It's a good way to stop my addiction for a day or so.
