Sid and Firaxis shoud be ARRESTED!!!
...because this game is electronic crack-cocaine. Hat's off to all of you. Those who don't own a copy yet (our friends down under), game ROCKS. A great development for the series. AI is now truely a step forward.
example: AI troops step arcoss borders. GET OUT!!! Troops leave but return. GET OUT!!! (My troops dispatched too see what the hell is going on) AI troops return (but are making a lazy outline of my boarders) My troops show up. AI troops steps back. My troops step into "unclaimed" land. AI steps back. At the same time I see an AI settler making his way towards my colonies. He sets down and claims two of them. War is declared. And after two of them that AI country stays out and respects my military and I own the city that now encircles my resources. Perfect. (though I would like to see them be a little more giving at the bargining table now, just a bit)
Game is SOLID. (not saying it's perfect) Patch will fix things up (tweaks) This will be the strategy game of the year. This is not AOE or C&C(those are cool too), it's a thinking mans game. Needs to say under game recommendations: IQ of 125 or greater. Sid and team, thanks.
Expansion idea: Give us two more eras(four would be cool). Screw going to AC. Go to Mars. Toogle between Earth and Mars. Send up men and do the whole thing again, but at the same time the first radio waves (sent when radio is discovered by first civ) are reaching other lifeforms(100 turns or so). They come to investagate(some war-like, some traders). Earth and Mars must fight off aliens or side with them(tons of outcomes of friendships). Weaker civs will be forced too side with aliens or be crushed. if side with aliens, will probably be forced to attack other Earth and Mars civs or be sucked dry of their resources... etc. New tech tree (for new eras) Go crazy or use real "probable" techs ie. mechs, ion drives... Do this and I'll give you another 50 bucks. Sorry so choppy, in a hurry
Strength and honor to all..
