Hey, welcome new member with a name full of history!
I hope you are not planning to make any kind of political statement with it. I kind of don't think too highly of the real Pol Pot. But if your are nice I can easily forget your name.
But are there unknown Civ 2 sites out there? Any page I know is no longer unknown because I know about it. But leaving the fun aside. I think there are some pages that are not so well known by many.
Perhaps some of the German Civ 2 Webring? Just follow the link to my site and you will find the webring. Otherwise there are some others. Following the links from site to site might yield some results.
Unfortunatly I keep them as bookmarks so I don't remember their URL and since I am not using my own computer right now I cannot look them up. Anyways, happy hunting...

Ditto. Any pages I've ever found have been included on my links page. Now a year old, but useful.
Dustin Dunn's site has the best links (ie comprehensive and categorized). http://dsquared.fiwh.com/civ2/
This one remained undetected by me for ages: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Realm/8827/

I don't think the Zigg goes under the unknown category St. Leo.

I've been meaning to update the page for a while, but generally doing one update means I'm going to have to deal with everything else as well. I did an updated links page over two weeks ago, so as soon as the server maintenance is done (the reason you get an error message at the moment, it's supposed to be finished tonight at the latest), I might as well see what I can do in terms of a site update.
Of course, in case you are of the persuasion that you don't like to wait, you can view the links at http://members.home.net/dustind/. As the @home member sites server seems to be abysmally slow, I have chopped out all the graphics and layout and left it as just plain text with links for the sake of ease in loading. If I've missed anyone's page, just give me the name and I'll take a look. Enjoy :-)

No, Hendrik, of course my username is no political statement!
I simply liked this name better than "Saddam Husseins Guard-Dog" :-))
And of course:
Thanks to all you guys, who posted links to sites here already!

Pol: I can understand your choice. I have to admit it is far better than your other idea.
DSquared: The Largest German Civ 2 Site is no longer dead. Last time I checked it out yesterday it looked quite alive to me.

I don't know how many people have been to my page so it could be considered unknown. http://www.geocities.com/thecornmast...o/scenario.htm
But it is in my signature so I'm not sure.

I don't know if my page is really unknown, but the Civ2 part is now also available in German (and negotiations are running to make it part of the German webring).
URL is on my sig.
And yes, I know the graphic mess-up. Hannibal appears in the slot where it should say Civilization II and CivII appears in the slot where Hannibal should be.

Ok..
CornMaster, Johan T: I have now added them to my links.
Hendrik: The link in the dead links is dead.. however I do have a link to Civ2.de (which I assume is the same page, and the one you are referring to) in the recently added links. While I was at it adding the other two links, I added the sites from the German Webring that were not already in the list.
Shadowstrike: Thank you :-) I lurk several of the on-topic groups, and usually bookmark any new site I see for later addition to my links as I try to collect as many as possible.

Pol - good luck collecting civ page links, it is amazing how many there are.
On your name and the potentially negative associations with it: perhaps you could modify it to add some humor or irony. Examples might be Pol Potty, Pol Poot, Pol Potato, Pool Pot, Pale Pot, Pol Pot's Reward, Pole Vault Pot, etc.
Historical names can be much more clever with an add-on: Stalin's Mustache, Mao's Toothbrush, Helmut Kohl's Account, Clinton's Humidor, or Marx Marks.
(just don't bring up Alexander's Horse)

Try to avoid a username that ties in with another user's handle, i.e. Mao's toothbrush.
On the issue of new pages to be found, what I did was that I followed the links from pages I knew, and I eventually ended up in some older sites. I found Mavinshome for example by using links to get from Platehead's site through quite a few sites and I eventually stumbled across it.

My site, Carl's Scenarios for Civilization II isn't exactly unknown. What is sort of unknown is it's new location: http://users.sgi.net/~harden/index.html
Many sites that link to it point to the old location: http://members.nbci.com/fambans/index.html
This is now a Test of Time site with my graphic modpacks.

Ok, but link to http://dsquared.fiwh.com/civ2 as that is the location it is normally in and will save you having to change it later. It should be back pretty soon I hope. :-)

Whoa, man! I have spent the last two hours downloading graphics and scenarios from these pages!
There's some great graphics which I'm going to rip-off for my scenarios!

Dr_Strangelove: In the Scenario Development world, we prefer "borrow from and pay tribute to" as opposed to "rip off".
