Took out 8 units (7 planes/IoD) and lost 3 units (formers/crawler). Thanks NS but keep your helicopter for your assault. I'm purposely keeping my interceptors in my middle bases and allowing the aliens to attack my crawlers/formers. I hate it when my interceptors go out to defend those units and lose. 1 turn to build formers and 4 turns to build interceptors. It is a good trade off for now. It is just a little annoying to do this every turn.

You have to keep patrolling your approaches for alien probes & other units. I kill some nearly every turn.

Yes, the AI is rather tough. I managed to survive three alien attacks this go 'round, but just barely.

Was going to mind probe 2 alien bases so I hid my probes in sea fungas 8 squares from the 2 bases I wanted to probe and 10 squares from the nearest alien needlejet. I watched as the 2 needlejets left their bases and went straight for both probes.
I tried this once before with hilcopter support and lost the hilicopters too. I wish I had their radar system.

General note to all players:

If a probe team action is employed against a Treatied or Pacted faction, the initiator must choose the "Declare Vendetta" option, unless permission is received in advance for the action (email).

This includes infiltration, I believe. I have noticed a probe team (I will not say who, you know who you are- and it is a human player) right south of Shadowlord's base 11 and base 6. Please be advised that if you probe, you are in violation of rules.

Well, I don't think the unknown (LOL, its not me!) player is in violation of any rules. Such a violation could only occur if a probe action had been undertaken and that choice not selected. (Something you have no way of knowing.) Simply having a probe in someone's territory is not prohibited. There could be many reasons for such an occurrence.
Such public posting of information is not really helpful to the goodwill of the game (particularly such a specific location) and I don't think it should be encouraged. If you felt so strongly about it you should have emailed privately the person concerned. Perhaps the prober feels that vendetta for a tech or base through mind-control is a fair exchange & you have taken that possibility away from them. Surely it is not your responsibility to guard the borders of all the other players?

Please refrain from such interference again.
