Is It Possible To Detach Units From The Army Shell?

Has anyone tried activating a unit from the main map right click menu and hitting disband? I know the whole army shows active but maybe you can disband a subunit when selected.

I'll try to remember to do this soon....

tried that
i've already tried that before but it only disbands the entire army!
such a waste.
