pollution stinks
ok, I've played a full game now and am digesting my thoughts for a nice letter to Firaxis. I LOVE this game. I can go on and on about what I love like resources, espoinage, and other changes, but would rather spend time dealing with problems I encountered.

Pollution stinks (no pun intended). It's everywhere....it's unavoidable. I truely winced when i had to research recycling over computers because I had pollution everywhere around cities with no factories. Do I need to mention I researched Ecology for Mass Transit over computers even before that?
I handled it readily in CIV 2, whats happening in Civ 3? Am I so damn good at city management that my cities get too big too fast? yeah, right...
As a result, I never built a single coal burning power plant for fear that that city would be swamped with ten workers at a time cleaning up the evils of industrialization.
Anyone else having this problem? I might be missing a gameplay dynamic on this one, but am pretty sure pollution is just too much in this version. It's the first time I've seen global warming without me building any power plants or using nukes. I'd appreciate imput from the masses.

I think it is done that way to give you a reason to keep your army of workers going.

How about 'noise' pollution? Does it smell too?

Only when you take acid, I guess.

Your precision astounds me.
