I don't understand anything, I just want to hit start game and 23 clicks/3 mins later I want to get a victory message.......

As a matter of fact I like the resource deal but I'm still all for a resources off/scarse/normal/abundant slider if that will make someone elses game.

You're so ME FIRST I can only pity you.

Maybe if you quit your senseless post padding we might actually get a constructive Civ3 discussion going here ?

This thread might be an ironic take on the circular nature of whining or it might be a complete trollfest but it certainly isn't the right place for a constructive Civ3 discussion. I'm sure I saw threads devoted to serious subjects but they keep scrolling off thanks to threads like these. If you want to talk about serious issues then the best way to ensure that happens is to post in serious threads and not add to the fuel in these ones

CyberShy- "people are complaining about game features that rock."
But why would you care so much about that? I certainly don't care that you like them.

-"people 'demanding' Firaxis to change the resource concept."
Again, who cares? It's not like Firaxis is going to make any major changes.

You still have not explained the degree of hostility displayed by you and others.

Dev- "simply make it customizable so what's your ****ing beef ?"
That is an excellent example of what this thread is all about.

Grumbold- Um, this is the "General" forum. Besides, if people took the time to understand my point rather than thoughtlessly brushing it off we could actually see less of this argument.

I dread to say this, but I "helped myself" to a copy. It slided down my connection to the outside world and onto my hard drive.

I don't approve of this, but since they could not be arsed to release it simultaniously, and I have already paid for my copy... Three weeks difference, and no LE on top of that, I decided to be too weak to just wait.

You are a whiner .

Most of the issues people complain about could have been avoided if Firaxis had made the game more customizable i.e. sliders for resources and corruption level etc.
Editor is easy enough to change the resource scarcity. Just bump up the number to your liking.

Bumping up the number means less resources....

Anyway that's a silly argument since the editor commands isn't documented so changing anything is like playing in the dark...I'd rather play Civ3.

I just want to play the Russians in Russia, the Mongols in Mongolia, the Japs in Jap-land...

(and actually be able to sink ships with planes)

Is that really so much to ask? if it is then I fear you...

Seeker, you have a valid point.
I hope Firaxis will patch that (I'm sure they will)
but I think it goes to far to say that CIV3 is broken because that off-core issue. (which is important and valid though)

I understand the fact that artillery/planes can not destroy units on land. This probably simulates that a few guys will almost always get away. After a good bombing campaign, getting these units is really nothing more than a clean-up operation. They are too weak to offer any resistance. But it is different with ships. Ships can not hide. Planes and bombardment should be able to sink them.

And for the language... if I was a moderator...
