Gif and Bmp files; Interchangable?
I have a bmp file that I would like to use as a intro page for a scenario. I have tried inserting it into the folder w/all the other scenario files, but the bmp file will not appear as a splash graphic when I do that. I tried a similiar trick w/a gif file, just to see what the program will do, and the scenario DID display the gif file's splash intro graphic. But, of course, it isn't the splash intro graphic I want. How do I change the bmp file to a gif file. If I can do that, it seems that all that's necessary at that point is to rename the gif file "Title" and the program does the rest. I do not have paintshop pro, only the default paint program that comes w/Windoze 98. Suggestions?
Wrestling w/creation some more,

Yes only GIFs work as title graphic. BMPs work only for units, icons etc., and only with FW/MGE.
If you haven´t any graphics software send me the BMP via mail (profile) and I´ll convert it into a GIF for you

Seems that this only works when the BMP has only 256 colors. I tried to convert a 24bit BMP with MSPaint and failed Fortunately, PhotoPaint did the job

Download FrontPage Express. Insert the .BMP picture into a blank .HTM document, and save the web page. A message box prompts you to convert the BMP into a GIF file. That's the only way I know how to do it.

BeBro; your advice sounds do-able. Please send me your email address and I'll get the file to you right away. Thanks, ShadowS; I'm not sure I have the programs you referred to. Do they come w/the Win98 package?
(edit) (no, of course they don't; never mind.)
Thanx,

You can download them from the Microsoft site. I'm sure you know where it is.
Edit: Work UBB Code, Work!
