Fundamentalists base graphics?
Hi folks,
Is it true, that there are two different kind of base graphic sets for Miriam? In my version of the game the Miriam bases are somewhat weird kind of orange-coloured pyramids, or mountains. IMO they suck! Few years ago I saw several screenshots from the game where Miriam's bases were cathedral-lookalikes, and those were much better looking than those orange cones.
Please can someone tell me if I had only seen things. And if somebody has the "cathedral"-set of bases, can he/she post it as an attachment (if it is legal) or directly to my e-mail. I'm sick of those goofy mountains.
BTW, the Miriam's bases look similar to the Civ3 mountains... or do they?

Miriams bases are church/cathedral type building. Its is posible they a not very distinct at the lower population levels. You mya have you graphics file replaced or corrupted, perhaps a re-install would improve them.
I do not have the IT or file managment skill to pick out a file and transmit it.

Can't attach a file to the "send e-mail to .. " either.
I've e-mailed you separately.

ditto - i'd like to see the cathedrals. Although I can't help feeling that the rock things we've got are the cathedrals...
edit: - on closer inspection, we seem to have orange cathedrals cut out of orange rock...

You know, now that you mention it, they do sort look like craggy beige mountains, if you are not looking for gothic cathedral structure. I think were are loking at the same graphic, with a diffirent frame of reference.

Go and see for yourself... Miriam's cathedrals on the picture called "observe the new borders", in the bottom. Here are also a lot of other weird graphics too.
For instance:
Gaians look weird
Spartans look weird
Morgans look weird
University looks weird
Nutrients look weird
Minerals look weird
Energy resources look weird
Farms/soil enrichers look weird
Minimap (on the low-right corner) looks weird
Monolithes look weird
Sensors (?) look weird
Infantry looks weird (all of them look like crawlers)
Some other things look weird....
Could it be that these are pictures from some kind of beta version? Whatever it is, the Miriam's bases look MUCH better in the pic mentioned...
I want that graphic set!

these pictures show a very early version of smac. you still can find some old data-crap in some of the graphic files. the actual look is (imho) the best.

I already had these Miriam graphics! And I thought that some of you guys had a Miriam Graphic where the cities look like proper cathedrals...
Oh yeah, the bate version. I liked some of the names and the design workshop look from it. You can also see remains from the beta version in various pcx files in the SMAC folder...

PLZ, could you post them (these cathedral-like base graphs) to me. I hate those orange mountains that look like sh*t. I mean, what was going through the firaxian minds when they changed them?
