Cathedrals Missing
Am I missing something? I was in the industrial age, long ago discovered monotheism, and yet still couldn't build any cathedrals as Joan of Arc! Are there any other prereqs? Can I build one if I have a collesium and temple as well?

Thanks.

Cathedrals only require monotheism. I haven't had any trouble building them.

That sounds odd. Now, how about this. I had the pyramids, but several of my cities did not have granaries. And they were on the same continent. one of them was about 15 squares from my capital. Wierd huh? Just remember to ad this to your beta report when you mail it to firaxis. I'm sure it'll be fixed by the final version.

The Pyramids do not put granaries in your cities. They merely have the same effect as if granaries were in all your cities. Big difference...and not a bug.

Raleigh,

what wonders did you build ?
One of them (can't remember out the top of my head) acts as a cathedral in each of your cities. That might be why.

Possibly a patronising point but have you built the Sistine Chapel. I think that is the new name for Mikes Chapel in Civ 2, which effectively adds a cathedral to each city. Doesn't show up in your list of built city improvements though - see the stuff on the Pyramids further on in this thread.

Rich.

Raleigh,

Cathedrals require a Temple in the city first.

Mister Hand,

Upon building the Pyramids, the City View will show a Granary and you will see a Granary that draws no maintenance in the City Improvements box. Try it.

CyberShy and BigRich,

The Sistine Chapel doubles the effects of Cathedrals in each city - there is no Wonder in Civilization 3 that acts as a Cathedral in each city.

If so, it would show up in the building list to the left of the city screen....

you might have cathedrals stuck in a citie's production queue. If so, then you would not be able to select it, and I think not even see it, for immediate selecting/building.

Pyramids are supposed to put granaries in all my cities, and it did put them in most. but there was about 3 that didn't have granaries, or their effects. Not a big bug, just an annoying one.

Smellymummy, you would see it, but not be able to select it.

Kc7mxo, are we sure what the game's defintion of 'continent' is?

Cheers,

Are the 3 cities without granaries on a different continent? The pyramids don't put granaries in all cities, just all cities on the same continent.

Did you found new cities after the pyramids were built?
Are these the ones missing granaries?

Just an idea
