Game Summary Screen is Lacking
I was always a big fan of civ1's game summary. I was really happy to hear they were bringing it back, but they did a poor job on it. There's very little information on the history of the game. Who built the pyramids? Who captured Rome? Who invented Steam Power? Who declared war? Who made peace? All these questions were answered in civ1 giving the summary a 'world history' kind of flavor, in spite of the 16 color low res graphics. This new game summary is completely sterile. My biggest complaint about Civ3 is that it's all game mechanics and no atmosphere! If I want game mechanics only, I'll play chess.
