Democrats v Republicans 2000 Scenario
What might have happenned in a less "Civilized" USA?
Imagine a map of North America. All the US states are either Democrat or Republican; accepting perhaps Florida (Barbarian or Neutral) and South New York (UN neutral Super City with hundreds of diplo/spies).
2/3 of Naval units would be Republican 1/3 Democrat.
Other tribes might be the Canadians and the Mexicans.
There would be special units: Governor Bush and Vice President Gore and of course those expert party lawyers as perhaps invisible flying veteran spies.
Nine fortresses might be designated as objectives (supreme court lawyers). Whichever tribe holds the majority after so long is declared the winner.

That would be cool! That election thing has my mind boggling, still. It would be fun to whoop up on Gore!

No, the Republicans and Democrats combine for 90% of the country and everyone whoops Nader!
Then everyone else in the world gangs up on the US for their Liberterian genocide!
Then Napoleon the 128th rises to power and conquers the ravaged world!
Please add nerve gas to this scenario.

This was bounced around on the ScenarioLeague Forum a while back here:
http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum18/H...232.html?24#24
and there were some interesting ideas posted, if anyone wants to do this. I, for one, would love to see a Campaigning Scenario done

Al Gore and George W. Bush speaks out on Apolyton's scenario plans-
Bush: "Daddy says there should be a scenario...My Dad was President you know. My advisors are all my dad's. My mom says I look like my dad...I even have the same pants as my dad...the Subliminable thing was dad's idea."
Gore: "Um...Markos, I would like to interupt now as if it was my turn because I'm teacher's pet. Now, I support this scenario as well, it is after all going to be distributed on the internet that *I* invented"

We Princes-soon-to-be-Kings hereby grant you royal pardon
Seriously, has anything like this been done before, concretely? And, more important, is anyone else interested in getting together to do this?

Sure!
Do you want a Onion-style mayhem scenario, maybe steal some of their ideas? Or a more straight forward, win the election style?
Any other takers?
Let's see...civs:
Democrats
Republicans
Greens
Undecided Voters
Should we start with each side controling a lot of the cities, or make them conquer the vote? How about city bribing for campaigning? Anyone know of a way to make a diplomacy unit unkillable, so we could try something like:
Trigger: Boston city bribed
"Al Gore campaigns in Boston, and successfully rallies the Democrats there."
And still have the canidate's unit live (instead of possibly die, due to city bribing)?
What do you think, P? Anyone else want in? Let's brainstorm here.

Well, there are ways to resurect units that are killed, but I don't think it will work when bribing.
Use a unit called propaganda spreader or something like that instead.

That's an awesome idea. If you want, I will make the flags for the scenario. Just email me at vsyegdazarossiyu@gateway.net and tell me what the necessary flags are, and I'll have them back in a jiffy.

Hmmm...how about these civs:
1) Democrat
2) Republican
3) Green
4) Undecided Voters
(largest civ)
There could be one city (campaign headquarters) given to each of 1-3 civs, with all others 4, and then have campaign workers (diplomats for bribing), and contributions (events), and other cool things...
How about it?

Masis-Are you asking for help on this project, or something totally different?
You might not know, since you're a settler, but generally it's considered bad manners to hijack a topic...

YES,After creating a topic for my request, I realise the pointlessness of my posts in other topics, so If someone would remove these 'alien' posts I would be grateful.
