(I've asked this on the sc3000.com, but apparently no one plays it there.)

How do I use the stairs? I have no idea as to how the advancing to the next level is done.

if you press "h", you can get a list of game commands. I use it all the time. Remember they are case specific, i.e. "f" is a different command than "F".

Hmmm.
Just went to check and found that somebody has deleted the game from my work PC

(teach me to save under c:\temp\nh )
and I had an awesome wizard that was halfway to ascending and almost a certainty to do it.

Anyway. I think I will stop playing now, but the answer from memory is pressing "<" for up and ">" for down.

The trick is to save it under \windows

\windows would have been better.

Funny that I thought that \temp seemed like a good place to save my work too

Given that I've been a professional software developer for 10 years, you would think that I should have worked this out a bit better.
