Maps databases?
I'm looking for good maps of various single countries and surrounding areas. Does anybody know where I can find them?
Specifically, I am searching for maps of England, America, China, and Russia. I have a "Three Kingdoms" China-based scenario in mind which I'd like to get to work on, but haven't found a good map for China yet.
Anybody able to help?

I've only got Fantastic Worlds - I hope the maps will work on that. I'm headed over to your site to find out!

No answer to a "Map Question" would be complete if it ommitted a link to Mercator's Web Site. Simply the largest collection of Civ2 maps anywhere on the planet:

Hmm... the maps are accurate, but they are presented in a strange orientation, as though the maps have been rotated about 45 degrees clockwise, so that North is actually pointing towards the upper right hand corner of the map.
Is this how they're meant to be, or is there some sort of problem in my version of Civ2? I only have the FW version.

I designed them tapping a distorted image, AC, in order to have emough room for all of the Warring States.
Bernd Brosing tested it, and he has FW... I think yes, the map will work!

The European Civilization II Site boasts a collection of (country specific) European maps.
As for compatibility with FW, the only thing you have to bear in mind is the memory capacity in the .exe file for map data. For FW the largest .mp file you can use is going to be ~64Kb. A tad over 5Kb compressed.
