Thanksgiving Weekend Succession Game
What's this? ANOTHER succession game? Damn right.
I just found out about these things today by reading the Apolyton and CivFanatics forums, and they're probably one of the best ideas ever (and the closest to MP we're going to get for a while).
I know there are some already going on, but I was hoping to try and start one myself this coming holiday weekend (when I've got a lot more time).
The specifications would probably be the same as many of the other games on the forum:
- Regent difficulty
- Random Civ
- Normal or Large map
- 20 turns per ruler, with a 72 hour limit
- 7 or 8 opposing civilizations
- Normal/Temperate/4 Billion
- 70% Land Mass
There'll probably be a limit of 6 or 7 players total, maybe a few more depending on how many respond. Also, I was thinking of getting a site or something (maybe on Geocities) up and running that'll detail the history of our Civ in all its glory. I suppose the title of the post is a bit misleading, as the game will probably take much longer than one weekend.
So, if you're interested in taking part in yet ANOTHER CivIII succession game, respond to this post or send an e-mail to berduin@softhome.net.

Random, I would definately be interested in playing, I won't be around much of thanksgiving weekend though (except sunday night) so as long as my first turn is after that, count me in.

I hope the title of this post hasn't scared anyone away!

I'm already participating in one game.... But it seems to be dead now.
Anyway, I'd like to join too. shadowmn@netvision.net.il

Good idea.
But I think that we will have to increase the time allowed to make your turns, since it takes a while to write all the stuff that happened in a good story format with screenshots and stuff.

I'd be willing to host your game. All you guys would have to do is send me the stuff by e-mail or post it here and keep me updated. My site is hosted by the University. It's here at www.icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/~mckibbin

Sorry, if I didn't make myself clear, but right now I'm not interested in a succession game, I was just imterested in providing a place for you to proclaim your achievements.

Actually, we don't need another person. We have: - Random Entity
- quinalla
- jerkwaterbox
- Eli
- Mike4879
- Me (vovansim)
So, that is six. Unless, we want seven people, we are ready to go

Great. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been really busy the past couple of days. There's a four-day weekend coming up, though (at least for me), so that should be plenty of time to get it started.
If I understand correctly, the players are the following (in order):
1. Random Entity
2. jerkwaterbox
3. Eli
4. Mike4879
5. vovansim (MacTBone was offering webspace)
6. quinalla
That should be enough.
MacTBone: Thanks for offering a place to upload the info, I'll take you up on that. E-mail me (berduin@softhome.net) and I'll get you the first update soon.
quinalla: I moved your turn down in the rotation so you'll be around when the time comes.
Also, I think it is a good idea to have a longer time limit on the 20 turns of each person (I was just going off of what previous games had done), so there'll be a 96 hour limit instead.
Sounds good! I'll get things started tonight, and post here with an update in the next day or so.

The site is up!
The site for the succession game is up at http://www.geocities.com/babylonciv. My first 20 turns are all there, along with numerous screenshots.

Here's the new site for your succession game. Sorry, I can't take any credit other than giving it space.
