Philosphy effect !?!
I was going to use a philosphy in the same way as captain nemo in his redfront and second front scenarios. On the first turn I use an event to give the swedish (who are the invadors of Poland) anyway this tech haven't been aquiered by any other nations, what hapens is this: The effect of the tech is working (they get a free tech) but the message (which I ofcurse have customized) isn't shown (!) which was the main reason I had to use this. Does anyone know what may cause this?

I don't believe that any techs which would normally trigger a message (either due to the tech itself or a unit becoming available with that tech), would trigger the message if it is obtained by an event.

Ah, I give up, I will use an event instead (I was hoping to save the space in the events file for other stuff and it looks worse in the event file, for some reason it will ignore all new line entries and just continue, when writing a long text that isnt very good ).

Henrik,
The golden age of philosophy message box won't pop up until one turn after they receive the tech. Make sure you wait at least one turn before you give up!

The file you need to alter is Game.txt. Search for Golden Age of Philosophy" and replace it with what you want.

I know that, thats where I changed it, the problem was that no message got shown at all, but the civ still got a free tech.
This was a realy frustrating problem untill I found the solutin in the sleauge forum.
