Random Civs (please help me)
Ok, I love the game but I have one little problem. I think that ever since the patch (it could have been before) I have always gotten America and Scotland as my opponents. No matter what settings I change in game I keep getting them. If I play as America or Scotland I get a different civ in their placed but it is still always the same civ. I have tried editing the userpofile.txt and putting NonRandomCivs=No (it was Yes) but I still get the same opponents and when I go back to the file it is back to saying yes. I am not very good with moding crap or any of that stuff. Can someone out there please tell me how to actually get some random civilizations to play against!!!!!!!!!

This forum runs pretty slow, 15 hours isn't a lot, but anyway...
Basically, on the lowest two levels, (I think) you always get the same civs, after that, you can change userprofile.txt, find the line NonRandomCivs: No and change it to Yes.
If you are playing easy or very easy, you should be able to write-protect userprofile.txt and play with random civs.

It Worked
Ok, I just deleted my userprofile.txt and ran the game and now everything is random. I think it was Timeline (or whoever in the Civ3 forum) that told me to do that. Thanks.

Aries,
You could also try playing a multiplayer game because the computer will let you specifiy which countries the AI should play against you. Just FYI....
