What exactly does WLT*D do?
I read in the FAQ that it might lower corruption. Does anybody know exactly what it does?

You are so anti-america that having a conversation with you would be poinless. You may or maynot feel you are an enemy of the United States, I don't care either way. However if I still worked for the Goverment I would turn over your e-mail address to my bosses and what ever happen, happens.

WLTK reduces corruption (more than a courthouse does), decreases the odds of the city defecting and seems to increase the chance of AI cities defecting.

It's nice, but nowhere near as powerful as it was in Civ I/ II.

Does it affect waste as well as corruption?

(I notice most people use the term "corruption" to refer to both waste AND corruption, which can be a bit confusing. I can live with corruption, but the waste is a bit of a killer, especially when you're trying to build the unhurriable Forbidden Palace...)

I agree, but I always thought the two were always affected equally. Althought the manual does mention them separately once. I'm still

Umm, what IS the difference? I've always been thinking of corruption as shield/gold loss(the %) and waste as the actual number of shield/gold lost in a city. Am I wrong here?

Toth: You're right, WLTKD isn't as powerful in this game as civ2, but really, it was just ridiculously powerful in that game. Nevertheless, if WLTKD is more effective than a courthouse as some have said then it is definitely worthwhile unless you are so big you are only getting 1 shield anyway.

WLTKD - Walk Like The Kid Did? Oh wait, I got it: We Love The King Day.

Some people seem to be talking about WLTKD as if you can make it occur. Is this so? If so, how?

I'm assuming that the * is due to the fact that the leaders have varying titles now (i.e., there is now "We Love the Emperor Day, We Love the President Day, etc.)

Waste = Shield production lost in a city (the red shields)
Corruption = Commerce/Gold generation lost in a city (the other red things)

It is indeed worthwhile. I don't know if it has any effect on total corruption cities, I tend to play builder by default so I haven't had as much a problem with corruption as some people on these boards seem to have. Getting the city that I've selected for the Forbidden Palace up to a 6+ and into WLTKD is a priority though.
