Cool, no, I'm not. I was in engineering last year, but I'm in Professional Writing with a CPT minor. (I have no idea how you got through engineering, you must be a maochist)

I think all the ME's who were seniors my last year were all ready to quit, but we didn't because we had already spent 3 (or 4 in some cases) years doing the work, so we toughed it out for the last year. Real work is so much easier and they pay me!

Anyway, I got about half my turn done before work, I will try to finish tonight or tomorrow and get it posted ASAP.

The rise of Empress Quinalla is shrouded in secrecy, but since no heir was named by the paranoid Emperor Vovanism, who knows what could have been involved.

975 Babylon finishes training a group of spearmen and they head off to explore south of the empire. Babylon then begins gathering a group of brave souls to form a new settlement. Ur's production is changed from a spearman to a temple to make our people happy. The illusive Zulus decide to contact us with a proposal to exchange territory maps. Empress Quinalla laughs at this idea, why would we give our map to an enemy, but manages to convince them to give us their map in a better deal.

950 Workers continue connecting our empire with roads. Our exploring archer finds that the Roman city Pinsae is connected to one other Roman city, but not to the main empire. The zulus new home is quite a distance from our empire now so Quinalla resigns herself to the fact that she will not be able to attack them during her reign. She sends a group of spearmen to invistigate the land between the zulus and her empire in hopes that a future leader might be able to reach them. Her advisors report that the Persians are building the pyrimids.

925 Quinalla is told that Zimbabwe is building a granary, but she knows that the people are beginning to feel crowded so she decides to allow they to form a band to settle in a new place. An exploring spearman discovers yet another source of iron.

900 The Golden Age of the Babylonians has ended. Workers finish a road to Ellius and begin on a road to a new settlement site that Quinalla has chosen for her people when they are brave enough to go there.

875 A spearman discovers a barbarian camp and Quinally is eager to attack. A group of people from Zimbabwe is ready to start on a journey to a new city site and another group inspired by this band of brave souls begins to form. Ellius citizens say goodbye to some of their former citizens as they head off to expand the empire. The citizens then start building barracks for their protectors. The people of Uri finish their glorious temple and are also inspired to form a group to settle new lands.

850 The spearman attacks the barbarians and is victorious.

825 Ninevah is founded. A strange barbarian is seen to the north west. Contact with him is initiated and he claims to be from the great Greek civilization. Quinalla contacts the leader and finds a very backward people in science, so a simple trade of their territory map, some gold and our knowledge of map making reveals their lands.
The greeks are between us and the new zulu cities and perhaps the greeks will be of some use when the Babylonians finish of the Zulu for good.

800 Babylon finishes training spearman and is instructed to build a barracks. The spearman joins the exploration. Quinalla notices that the whole continent is rich with iron desposits.

775 More exploration

750 Ashur is founded and is ordered to construct a temple since it is close to the Persian sphere of influence.

730 Quinalla begins consulting her advisors every 20 years instead of 25. Ulundi finishes training spearmen and is ordered to construct a temple to increase our sphere of influence. The spearman heads to Zimbabwe to be ready to escort the new settlers that will soon be leaving.

710 The exploring archer reaches the northern edge of the continent. The Zulus want to renegotiate the peace treaty and Quinalla decides that agreeing will lull them into thinking they are safe from the Babylonians.

690 Barbarian boats are spotted near Babylon. The road to Ur is completed. The Persians contact us and offer Philosphy for a mere 90 gold and we accept and they are now much more polite to us.

670 Ellipi is founded and two more supplies of silks are secured and kept out of greedy Roman hands. Perhaps we will trade some to them in the future if they are lucky. Ellipi begins constructing a temple.

650 Ninevah constructs a warrior and begins training workers to help complete roads.

630 The Romans are also expanding their empire rapidly. The Ur settlers set out for better lands and spearman begin their training.

610 Zimbabwe sends another group of settlers on its way and another group is ordered to be formed because of the incredibly high birth rate.

590 Babylon finishes its barracks and is instructed to train spearmen.

570 The exploring warrior finds a new town site with access to fish and cows and Quinalla takes this as an omen that the empire will continue to thrive under the next leader and decides it is her time to die.

Note: There are settlers moving towards new town sites with spearmen protecting them, you might want to see where they are headed.

The Akkad Dynasty - Emperor Random Entity the Second

550 BC - Nineveh's work force is assembled, and the city is told to assemble another. The Emperor's two primary goals for the "New Era" are expansion and connection.

530 BC - The Bowmen scouting the region north of Zimbabwe are reassigned to secure the northern grasslands; fertile areas that the Romans MUST NOT be allowed to take for themselves. Our warrior regiments northeast of Ur move to explore the isthmus connecting the Empire to Roman territory.

510 BC - The road connecting Babylon and Ulundi is completed. The workers are then commanded to build roads in the region north of the city.

490 BC - A regiment of spearmen, in the First Imperial Army, are completed in Babylon. The Emperor's expansion policies influence many citizens of Babylon to assemble so that they can one day settle a distant land. A barracks is completed in Elius, and the general there begins training bowmen to assist in the defense of the Northern Lands. Another addition to the First Imperial Army is completed in Ur: a new spearmen regiment to defend the city.
The town of Uruk is founded in the flood plains over the mountains and to the west of Babylon.

470 BC - The Emperor sends an emissary to the Persian fringelands, demanding the secrets of construction. Xerxes requests a trade - the Babylonian regional maps to exchange for the technology. Random Entity hesitantly accepts, reasoning that simple maps were worth the sacrifice for new advancements. A similar deal is struck with Emperor Caesar of Rome, this time
the Empire pays a mere 80 gold for the outline of a new system of laws.

450 BC - The Babylonian wise men begin contemplating the universe, and using the basic principles of Bantu Mysticism as a research source, start to envision the idea of many gods that control the world.

430 BC - Paranoia begins to set in among the Babylonian people concerning the Romans. They seem to be everywhere on the border of the Motherland. Many historians compare this to the same paranoia felt by Emperor Mike of the Admant Dynasty before his death.

410 BC - Most cities in the Empire begin to mass-produce settlers for the Emperor's "New Era" expansion plans.

390 BC - A temple is completed in Ashur. The Emperor, at the cost of scientific advancement, increases taxes to help the Imperial treasury. Protests ensue, but are quickly silenced by the military.

370 BC - A warrior regiment in the hills northeast of Ur fortifies to defend against relentless Roman expansion.

350 BC - The citizens of Babylon begin erecting walls to keep out vandals and thieves. Xenophobia is at an all time high when it is discovered that two new Roman settlements have appeared in the east: Byzantium and Lutetia.

330 BC - A temple is completed in Ulundi. Workers continue to build roads that will facilitate travel in the Northern Plains.

310 BC - The cities of Elius and Ashur experience a cultural expansion. The Emperor, in honor of the event (and to remove any traces of Zulu culture from the Empire), renames Zimbabwe "Habbus", and renames Ulundi "Quinallus", in memory of his predecessor Quinalla.

290 BC - A small band of Roman Guardsmen arrive at the palace of Admantus with an emissary. The small, sheepish Roman man asks in a tiny voice that the Babylonian Empire immediately give the Roman Empire the maps of its territory along with 11 coins of gold. Emperor Random Entity is hesitant, but the Council advises him to give in - the Romans will pay for this when the time is right. Later that same year, the city of Eridu was founded on the fringes of the Northern Plains. Word was also received from the borderlands that Persian and Greek warriors were discovered in our territory. Both nations were immediately asked to leave, and both agreed with little protest.

270 BC - The road to the Roman town of Byzantium is completed. In the far north, the city of Samarra is founded to counteract Roman expansion in the northern regions. The Emperor sent ambassadors to the Empire's two largest neighbors, Rome and Persia, and established embassies.

250 BC - Persian warriors are once again located in Babylonian territory, this time to the south of Elius. The Emperor is enraged, immediately demanding of Xerxes that they be removed. Xerxes
complies, but not before commenting on the Empire's rather poor border defense. The Emperor accepts this 'constructive criticism', and begins to train troops to protect the borderlands.

230 BC - The regiments of swordsmen south of Akkad begin exploring the vast jungles near the Euphretes River.

210 BC - Our scholars are distraught to hear that the Persians are building a 'great library' of some sort.

190 BC - A new group of settlers from Elius are sent by the Emperor to settle the southeast coast of the Northern Plains. The swordsmen units in the jungles discover dyes.

170 BC - Early in the last years of Emperor Random Entity's reign, a Zulu emissary arrived with a message from Shaka - he requests that our two nations trade territory maps. The Emperor can
only laugh at this. How could the pathetic Zulu nation possibly consider themselves to be our equals, after we drove them out of our land?! Random Entity sends an emissary back to Shaka,
but with a different request - that he pay tribute to the Empire with all the gold in their treasury (which amounted to a total of 6), and their exploration maps. The Zulus agreed, of course, wanting us to spare their pathetic nation for at least a few more years. The exchange of maps reveals that the Zulus do, in fact, have a third settlement in their new homeland, known as 'Isandhlwana'. The Emperor, growing old, decides to retire. Having named his successor, he lives out the rest of his life in his villa in the grasslands of Samarra.

Alright, here goes!

170 BC: The Great Reign of Dictator MagicBacon begins!
150 BC: Dictator MagicBacon, declaring that positive population growth is essential to the health of the state, announces construction of a great granary in Babylon.
130 BC: A group of colonists are founded in Ashur. They are sent north to colonize the... north. The arrogant Persians found a city near Elius and Uruk called Samaria. Dictator MagicBacon is confident that our superior Culture will defeat them.
90 BC: Settlers from Ur are sent south to claim Iron for Babylon. Emperor MagicBacon believes that it is of the utmost importance to secure many sources of Iron for our glorious empire. All seemed in order until an urgent missive arrived from the Iroquois capital, stating that the Iroquios had completed the Oracle, a project that had been nearly completed by the Babylonians! Distraught, the Babylonians changed production to a Great lighthouse, to aid in the navigation of treacherous waters.
70 BC: Exploration of the south contines with our swordsmen, until disaster strikes! A lone regiment, patrolling the mountains, was overrun by a horde of barbarian horsemen, but not before destroying 7 enemy regiments. Emperor MagicBacon was distressed at the news, but hoped that the barbarians would turn their attention against Persia.
50 BC: A temple is completed in Nineveh, and workers all over the empire have been building roads to link up the many cities of the Empire.
30 BC: The city of Legash was founded near Byzantium, to curb Roman expansion in that sector.
10 BC: News reached the Emperor's court that the Romans had completed the Pyramid. Magicbacon was distressed by this, as it would mean that the Romans would have a definite edge in population growth. On the plus side, the city of Kish was founded by a band of colonists.
10 AD: After some haggling, the Emperor bought literature from the Persians for 140,000 talents. This was done so that production could be changed to the Great Library, a place where scholars all the world over could come to enrich the science of Babylon. Thus, Adamantus changes its focus to the Great Library.
30 AD: Continuing a string of bad luck, Athens was reported to have constructed a great wall. The Emperor too solace in the fact, however, that he believed the greeks would gain little advantage from it.
50 AD: A road was completed to bring silks into Babylon, further enrichint Babylon's rich luxury trade.
70 AD: Little happened, but scouts reported alarming Roman expansion on Babylon's northern border.
90 AD: An errant warrior was found wandering in the lands of Babylon. Alexander was promptly contacted and he immediately agreed to remove the foriegn troops.
110 AD: A massive barbarian invasion was reported around Samarra! Fortunately, however, several roman units were to the north of Samarra, Magicbacon wisely concluded that they would bear the brunt of the assault.
130 AD: The Emperor's shrewd strategic mind was proved correct once again. The romans defeated the Barbarian invasion, suffering casualties to their expansionistic force as an added bonus. Hopefully, the Babylonians hoped this would buy them time to build cities in the north.
150 AD: Little occured in this year save for the founding of a new city in the north.
170 AD: Disaster! Beliveing the Barbarians to be sedated, the Emperor sent out a group of colonists without aid. Soon after founding the village, a group of horsemen descended and stole 27,000 talents from the local treasury!
190 AD: Babylon has completed its great granary. Production is then concentrated on Swordsmen, to show the enemies of Babylon that she retained the ability to lash out at her foes. Believing that culture was the key to holding off the Romans, Magicbacon ordered the city of Samara to spare nothing to complete its pyramid. Regrettably, many civillians perished the the feverish construction pace.
210 AD: Little of consequence, but the Romans continue to expand on the north. This will surely prove troublesome.
230 AD: The Empire is in tranquility as the Emperor dies ridiculously old age. The reigns of leadership are ready to be passed on.

Gosh, I hope none of you saw my earlier post. It was &(*^ ridicuous, was a big joke story. This one is much better. I hope that you will look upon my reign as a mixed bag, and not as a total failure

BTW, I don't know how to include pictures, and I unfortunately could only include 2 in the Zip. My final turn, and the Swordsman yelling MOMMY as he is ambused by 20 horsemen.

230AD - A talented minister replaced the dead King shortly, and called himself Emperor Eli the Second. The Babylonian Empire is now focuses on fast military buildup, in order to halt the Roman expansion. Barracks and Swordmen are rushed in all cities.
250AD - In the middle of our buildup, the treacherous Romans declared war on us! A regiment of Archers was lost in Samara, but the Swordsman there still holds the city. Two Roman Archers and one Spearman are approaching Nippur who has only one un-fortified Spearman as defence.
260AD - Tens of thousands of our Babylonian citizens die when Swordsmen are hurried in our cities. In the first year of the war, the situation doesnt look good at all.
270AD - Our city of Nippur had fallen. Babylonian Swordsmen attacked Pisae and Byzantium and won. But there are more units garrisoned there, more swordsmen are on their way.
280AD - Kish falls. The single Spearman there couldnt stop the Roman Elite Archer who came from the mountains. But a Swordsmen regiment is on the way to attempt to liberate the city. A wounded archer attacks a Roman elite Archer but wins. Another Swordsmen attacks Pisae and wins, but the city is defended very well. Our Swordsmen are also victorius in a short battle southern from Nineveh. More Swordsmen are being rushed in our cities.
290AD - Admantus builds the Great Library! We get the knowledges of Currency, the Republic and Monotheism and enter a new era!(while still researching Monarchy at 10% science rate since it makes no difference)
Hurray! We captured Caesaraugusta, Pisae and Byzantium! Also, Roman settler was captured, now we have two more workers.
300AD - The Persian City of Samaria joins us! We lost a Swordsman near Nineveh, but Kish was liberated!
310AD - Nippur liberated!
320AD - Attacks are carried on Pompeii. The Romans concentrate forces near Neapolis.
330AD - Long battles with many casualties around Neapolis.
340AD - Palmyra is conquered! The battles near Neapolis are continuing.
350AD - The Persians started building the Hanging Gardens and the Zulus started with the Lighthouse. Pompeii is conquered!
360AD - Neapolis is conquered! We have kicked the Romans out of our lands! Rome surrendered and we get 28 Gold per turn for the next 20 turns! Peace is signed.
370AD - Emperor Eli II suddenly dies. His last unclear words are "I dont have time to finish my 20 turns...". The following is found in his will :
"Forget about Bowmen. Make sure that every city has two Spearmen as defence, and build the Forbidden Palace!"

Good game Eli, I played through my 20 turns but it appears I made the mistake of declaring war on the Romans again

The War-Torn Reign of Emperor Mike4879 the Second
-------
Introduction: It is the year 360 AD and the Babylonian Empire has risen to a level of greatness that none of its early emperors could have ever forseen a thousand years earlier. But times of great hardship are ahead, as many of the bordering nations surrounding Babylon have become enemies who want to stop the Babylonians from solidifying their dominance. The Greeks in the west, the Romans in the east, and the Persians in the south. Surely they all hold a vendetta against the greatest empire in the world. By the end of the First Roman War, Emperor Mike IV VIII VII IX the Second rises to power. Many of the newly joined Babylonian cities remain unconnected to the rest of the empire, and the level of corruption in some cities in unbareable.

(1) 370 AD - The resistance in Pompeii has ended. The population is immediately punished and ordered to produce a spearman. 50,000 men and women are slaughtered to complete the task. Some of the occupying forces in Pompeii are ordered to Neapolis. Emperor Mike orders the building of The Colossus in Admantus. Many of the new Babylonian swordsmen are moved around and garissoned in towns.

(2) 380 AD - Greek activity is spotted on our border. The Greeks have brought 2 settlers guarded by spearmen and hoplites into our territories. Emperor Mike contacts the Greeks who agree to withdraw their troops. Also noted is the fact that our forces outnumber the Greeks.

(3) 390 AD - The situation gets worse. 3 Greek settlers, 1 Zulu settler, are either within or approaching our borders. Emperor Mike the Second becomes infuriated. If its war they want... He then calms himself down and contacts the Greeks again. They automatically withdraw.

(4) 400 AD - This year Emperor Mike ordered the deaths of thousands and thousands of citizens as projects are hurried throughout the empire. A library is hurried in Habbus, where it looks like both the Greeks and Zulus are planning to settle new cities directly outside of Babylonian borders. Temples are hurried in Lagash and Byzantium, near the Roman border. Libraries are hurried in Ellipi, Eridu, Uruk, and Ashur.

(5) 410 AD - The treacherousv Greeks and Zulus have formed new cities outside of Habbus on the same turn. Emperor Mike vows to crush both civilizations eventually. Embassies are established with both the Greeks and the Zulus. Civil disorder has been raging in the city of Babylon. More death, as a temple is hurried in Neapolis.

(6) 420 AD - The Greeks have crossed into our borders again. This outrage cannot continue. Emperor Mike once again orders them to withdraw. Over 10 of our swordsmen have accumulated outside of the Roman city of Antium. They are ordered to stand guard and await orders. Spearmen are hurried in Caesaraugusta and Nippur.

(7) 430 AD - Many of our cities are now properly defended. A cathedral is rushed in Babylon and Uruk. Libraries are rushed in Ur, Pisae, Neapolis, and Sumarra. A temple is rushed in Pompeii.

(8) 440 AD - The pathetic Greeks have once again entered our territories. They have now become annoyed with us. It looks like a war with the Greeks is becoming inevitable. They have withdrawn their troops and settlers to the edge of our borders once again. Our troops have moved into Roman territories outside of Antium. Emperor Mike declares war on the Romans!

(9) 450 AD - Our cultural influence has increased in much of our territory. Civil disorder has broken out in several of our provinces. Our forces lose 3 swordsman, but take Antium! They will wait there until the resistance has ended! Some of the Roman towns we have taken appear to be trying to rebel.

(10) 460 Ad - Roman legionaries are spotted outside of Antium. Many of our elite swordsman move to meet them. A temple is hurried in Antium.

(11) 470 AD - Order has been restored in the rebelling cities. In one of them, Pisae, a temple has been hurried. The legionaries outside of Antium have moved and appear to be going somewhere else in our territory. Some of our forces have been diverted to stop them. Our warriors outside of Lutetia are attacked. The Great Library has given us Feudalism.

(12) 480 AD - The reign of blood continues as libraries and cathedrals are hurried throughout the empire. The Romans are building Sun Tzu's Art of War. A blood bath ensues at a battle outside of Rome, where a single Roman legionary takes down 4 of our swordsman, but we eventually defeat them. More Roman legionaries pour out of Rome and destroy one of our spearmen. Babylon begins building Sun Tzu's Art of War, but it does not look like it will make it.

(13) 490 AD - Another battle outside of Rome results in one of our swordsmen becoming elite, as a legionary is taken down. Our troops are now positioned outside of Rome.

(14) 500 AD - Roman archers surround our position outside of Rome. We have defeated the bulk of the Roman forces inside of the city, only one more spearman to defeat, if we can hold out against the archer attacks!

(15) 510 AD - The majority of our forces near Rome have been defeated!

(16) 520 AD - Legionaries approach our cities. The bloodiest day in Babylonian history occurs, as Emperor Mike hurries almost all cities in the empire to produce swordsman. Emperor Mike is growing old, but he must win this war!

(17) 530 AD - 10 cities have produced new swordsman. The Greeks are told to leave our territory again. Legionaries are closing in. Our forces are scattered but begin mobilizing.

(18) 540 AD - Our swordsmen take down a Roman spearmen in our territory that was guarding a settler. Our spearmen in Nineveh hold out against a legionary attack.

(19) 550 AD - Our cities hold out against continued Roman attacks, several of their legionaries are destroyed.

(20) 560 AD - By the end of Emperor Mike's reign, the Romans appeared to be gaining leverage against the great Babylonian Empire. The old and frail Emperor could no longer make public appearances, or even get out of bed. The Romans were sure to soon lay siege to several important Babylonian cities, and most of the Babylonian forces had been defeated. Emperor Mike's last act as emperor became unprecidented in its scope and magnitude. As he sat on his death bed, Emperor Mike called on the Greeks, the Zulus, and the Persian leaders to come to his palace in Admantus. There, a legendary agreement was forged. The Romans had to be stopped, and the legendary "Greek-Zulu-Persian Babylon Alliance" was signed. All of the known world was now at war with the Romans. Emperor Mike died shortly thereafter, not knowing the consequences of his actions. Outside the window of his palace, he gazed upon the soon-to-be-finished Colossus. He would never see it completed.

The Babylonian Military Advisor claims that he saw a ghost of Emperor Eli II saying "IF YOU LOSE ONE OF THE CITIES I CONQUERED I'LL KILL YOU! ".

Heh, I just knew that the Romans would piss us off to the point where conflict was inevitable. With the way the AI actually helps during war in CivIII, they should be on their knees in no time.
Concerning the site, I've decided I simply don't have the time to update it with every new post, what with midterms coming up and everything. Barring any other disaster, I'll update it once a week, on Saturday. Hope this isn't too inconvenient for anyone!

(0) 560AD Looking around. Wow. Our empire has sure grown since my last rule. A city (Lagash, I believe is taken and razed by the Romans). Well, We'll see what we can do about them! Civil disorder in Antium.
(1) 570AD The city of Tarentum is taken by us. It is kept. Order in Antium restored. Troops move towards the Roman territory.
(2) 580AD Fighting on the Roman border continues. Several cities complete swordsmen and bowmen. They are ordered to continue the military production.
(3) 590AD The battles continue. One Babylonian swordsman dead. Two Roman Legionaries dead.
(4) 600AD The Romans try to move some settler into our territory. Go to work, slaves!
(5) 610AD Adamantus has completed the Colossus. It starts working on the Hanging gardens. More glorious victories for the Babylonian soldiers. Two Roman bowmen and one two spearmen killed. No losses on our side.
(6) 620AD Kish is taken by the Romans and is destroyed. An elite Legionnaire is killed by our Veteran swordsman, who is promoted to Elite immediately. The people like this win and decide to improve the royal palace somewhat.
(7) 630AD Persians have completed the Hanging Gardens. They send hordes of horsemen to the Roman territory, however.
(8) 640AD Roman troops move towards Byzantium. But I hope we will be able to defend it. Some of our swordsmen move towards Ravenna. There is a civil disorder in that city.
(9) 650AD Our men once again decide to improve the Royal palace. They probably think we are doing very well in this war. May be, we are, but I fell that we need a source of horses (especially since chivalry is not too far away). Unfortunately, our friends do not have this resource in excess.
(10) 660AD I feel that we can not continue the war at this moment. So I contact Caesar and we sign a peace treaty. He also gives us two workers, 36 gold, 14 gold/turn, and his world map.
(11) 670AD Pompeii has built a galley. It starts exploring the nearby waters.
(12) 680AD The galley continues exploring. Two settlers are built. They are sent to two locations. One is to the north of Samarra. A Greek settler is heading there, however, so we probably won't get there first. The other location is to the East of Eridu. I also hope to find habitable land on some other island. With time, however, this hope fades, as we all know how fast the other empires can expand their borders.
(13) 690AD Antium builds a galley. Great news! A new herd of horses is found within our borders. Now we will be able to produce knights! As soon as we get chivalry from the Persians, that is. I contact Xerxes and he agrees to give me Chivalry for some gold. That's it, Romans. The mighty Babylonian knights will soon crush you!
(14) 700AD The road towards horses is being built. The galley is exploring.
(15) 710AD Ashur builds a swordsman. It is ordered to build a marketplace.
(16) 720AD The peaceful life continues.
(17) 730AD
(18) 740AD The city of Lagash is founded to prevent the Greeks from settling too close to us. Seems like they will, any way.
(19) 750AD The Americans have completed the Great Lighthouse. The city of Kish is founded.
(20) 760AD The road to the horses is now complete! Production in some (in fact, most) cities is changed to knights. Soon, the Romans will feel our might!

I got about half-way through my turn this morning, but I had to tell you guys, before my last turn the Romans asked for a Alliance against the Greeks and a ROP agreement. Obviously I said no. They saw the Persian horde coming and got worried I guess. Ok, back to work and I will finish up tonight.

A young woman born in the city of Quinallus is chosen to lead the Babylonians. She takes the name of the first Empress Quinalla in honor of her and her hometown and begins the reign of Quinalla II.

760 Quinalla surveys her empire, deciding that war with the Romans again is inevitable, but preperations still need to be made. She also observes that a vast number of Persian troops are headed towards the Romans through our lands along with a few zulu and greek forces. As much as she hates allowing anyone in her borders, she know that the Persians might be just the distraction needed to let the Babylonians crush the Romans. All the cities are contacted and instructed to outfit their current troops with better weapons (spearmen to pikemen and warriors to swordsmen) and those that do not have the resources but are close to a town that does will send their soldiers to these towns to be properly outfitted. Many workers are called from their current tasks to start the task of completing roads to all the many cities of the empire.

770 Many knights are trained and sent to two points along the Roman border. Quinalla notices Roman legionaires trying to trespass, probably trying to reach Persian cities, and orders them out with the threat of war. The Romans attempt to appease, they have seen the horde of Persians approaching as well.

780 The greek city of Thessalonica has joined the Babylonian empire! Quinalla takes this as an omen that the all are meant to be part of our great empire and that the Roman people are probably longing to join us as well. She gladly allows the former greeks to build a temple to celebrate their new empress. Quinalla contacts the various leaders to see if they have anything worthwhile to trade. She realizes that the other leaders are quite upset that the Babylonians asked them to join the war against the Romans and then backed out. The Persians have a worker for trade, so she purchases it for 10 gold and a map of the world. It turns out to be a roman worker, more signs of what is to come. Roman soldiers trespass again and are ordered out again. Quinalla orders troops moved to block the Romans.

790 The city of Shuruppale is founded and begins building a temple. The Persians contact us and have the audacity to demand our territory map. Quinalla keeps herself from laughing in the face of the emmissary and politely refuses. They must be feeling powerful with their whole army in our borders, but they are set on attacking the romans and don't want a war with us as well.

800 Romans are ordered out again, workers continue to connect cities.

810 Ellipi goes into disorder because of the cruel oppression of past leaders. This is the first of many cities to complain and riot. Perhaps our people have felt the whip too many times in the past and Quinalla vows not to use it during her reign unless the fate of the empire rests on it. The people of Ellipi begin building a cathedral where they can properly mourn for the lost lives of so many friends and family. The Persians have nearly reached the Romans. A few Greek soldiers reach the border and the Romans cross over to attack. Once they defeat the greeks, I order them out.

820 A Barbarian galley attacks our galley, but it is victorious and continues exploring the coast. Quinalla orders a galley that has been docked for centuries to explore as well, we must find more lands and riches for our empire.

830 Only one or two Romans cross our border this time, most are rushing to defend their city that will soon be under the Persians assault. Lagash finishes its warrior and begins work on a temple.

840 The Romans contact us and offer an alliance vs. the greeks and a right of passage agreement. Quinalla send the emmissary away and once he is gone she laughs for 20 minutes straight, does that idiot who claims to rule the Romans think we are that stupid! The Persians reach the Romans city of Nicomedia and take it from the Romans. We discover the secrets of theology and we are now trying to learn the great skill of engineering. Quinalla decides to reward her people's efforts and raises the amount of luxuries given to the people to 10% of our income.

850 The Romans take back Nicomedia and then the Persians recapture it. Approximately 10 barbarian galleys are reported seen off the various coast of our empire. Quinalla decides the time to attack the Romans is now and moves troops toward Ravenna and Cumae and they are inside the Roman borders. She hopes the Romans will simply declare war, but they instead ask us to leave and we declare war on them. Greece and Rome sign a peace treaty. The Romans take Nicomedia back, both sides taking huge casulties. A few Roman soldiers attack a knight and he becomes elite.

860 We uncover the secrets of engineering and begin trying to unlock the strange secrets of invention, hoping to learn of a more powerful substance to crush our enemies with. Habbus and Somarra both riot, complaining of past oppresion and are given one entertainer and not allowed to grow anymore. Our troops take Cumae with one knight's attack, 2 resistors are present and three troops are garrisoned to convince them otherwise and the people are instructed to build a temple. Our troops also take Ravenna with no casulties and there is only 1 resistor there and they are also instructed to build a temple.

870 Resistance is over in Ravenna, one quelled in Cumae. One of our knights is attacked and killed by roman soldiers.

880 Cumae resistance has ended and they have starved themselves down to 2 people and will be growing soon. We attack a few roaming troops and capture a worker, no casulties.

890 Neapolis is also not allowed to grow and allowed one entertainer to make up for past oppresion. Another knight is lost in battle. The Persian and Roman troops continue to kill each other off, Quinalla silently cheers them both to destroy one another.

900 Thessalonia also shows its anger at being oppressed and is dealt with like our other cities. Quinalla considers raising the luxury rate again, but decides against it for now. The Zulus and Romans sign a peace treaty with neither side even seeing the other.

910 Lutecia was taken with only one casulty, a bowman, Quinalla worries about the 3 resistors because she cannot station more than 2 regiments there, but hopes they can hold out until the reinforcemnt get there. A Roman spearman destroyed the road to horses and a swordsman is sent to deal with him and two workers are dispatched behind him to patch the road.

920 The Roman was destroyed by our swordwman and the workers are still moving to fix the road. One resistor in Lucetia is quelled and another troop is moved in just to be safe.

930 The Lucetia resistance has ended. Quinalla decides to wait for all the troops to heal fully before moving on.

940 Quinalla orders that a great cathedral should be constructed in bablyon and calls the project the sistine chapel.

950 All the troops are healed and a few new knights are moved into position, workers finally begin reparing the road to the horses and several towns are ordered to build swordwmen until horses can be secured for knights. Quinalla is growing very old and tired and decides to let her sucessor to decide which Roman city to attack next. Her last words were, "If we are unable to complete the Art of War before another empire, please don't let the people's efforts be in vain, allow them to build the great sistine chapel instead and let the people of Babylon build something else. The Romans are meant to be a part of our great Babylonian empire, conquer them and welcome their people into our empire."

Note: We should really build the FP sometime, but I didn't start it because I am hoping we get a great leader from fighting the romans and then we can build it wherever we want to. I will post the screenshots when I get home, but here is the save and the log. (edit: screenshots in zip file now)

Emperor Random Entity the Third of the El-Ashid Dynasty

Empress Quinalla II's successor is a councilman from the El-Ashid family of Admantus. He is the direct descendant of Random Entity II, and takes his name along with the throne. He vows that the Romans will be vanquished under his rule, and her people assimilated into the Babylonian Empire.

960 AD - The troop movements of swordsmen in the Southern Jungles reroute and move toward the coastal Roman colonies at the Emperor's discretion. The Emperor decides to have them bring up the eastern flank to support the knighted armies that will attack Rome from the west.

970 AD - We are contacted by the Zulus. They offer their world map for our world map and Monarchy. The Emperor simply laughs at this ridiculous request, and refuses. Numerous cities are still producing swordsmen for the offensive on Rome. Knights from Cumae, Ravenna, and Lutetia surround the Roman city of Veii, primed to attack. Production orders in Ravenna are changed to build defensive units.

980 AD - On the Southern Coast, the Romans and Persians continue to fight and obliterate each other (with the Persians posessing an obvious advantage). The Fifth Imperial Army, composed primarily of knights, captures the city of Veii, the largest populated area in the Roman Empire. Their country is split in half. A Roman legionary unit is destroyed near the river.

990 AD - Resistance in the captured city of Veii is put to a stop. Elius trains a new unit of knights for the Fifth Imperial Army that will help to spearhead an attack on the Roman capitol. A knight unit already positioned in the plains south of Rome mounts an attack, and destroys the pikemen guards in the city. Intelligence indicates that only an extremely outdated spearmen unit remains in the city.

1000 AD - A feirce battle is fought outside Rome, with both sides eventually reaching a stalemate. Our ships continue to explore the Southern ports of Persia.

1010 AD - Our knights of the Fifth Imperial Army capture the city of Rome, along with three workers and the Pyramids. The Emperor holds a grand celebration in Admantus, but knows the war is far from over; as long as the filthy Romans continue to infect Babylonian lands, the Empire will continue to struggle.

1020 AD - All units near Rome and Veii regroup and prepare to move east. The Persians suffer some casualties in the south.

1030 AD - Most Roman cities on the southern cost have been taken by Persia. The final offensive begins.

1040 AD - The Persians capture Hispalis...

1050 AD - ...only to have the Romans take it back again. Those damn Persians can't hold a city! We can, though, and we just took Viroconium, the new Roman capitol in the north. Our forces set their sights on the port of Caesarea.

1060 AD - Swordsmen and Knights march towards the port.

1070 AD - Fighting begins. Several cities begin to fall into civil disorder.

1080 AD - The Emperor raises luxuries another 10% to help ease the resistance of former Roman citizens. The invasion force of the Babylonian Empire has become incredibly thinned out, and attacks grow few and far between. The Emperor vows not to give in, however, until the Roman Empire is gone. The city of Brundisium is captured, leaving only the port town of Caesarea left.

1090 AD - Rome somehow manages to weasel their way into a peace treaty with Persia. Fine, more spoils for us. Battles continue outside of Caesarea. The Babylonian people begin celebrating the Emperor's reign, and expand his palace for him.

1100 AD - Fighting continues outside the last Roman stronghold.

1110 AD - Persia withdraws its forces from most Babylonian territories.

1120 AD - After hundreds of years of battle and destruction, the Roman Wars finally came to an end. Emperor Random Entity himself rode horseback alongside his knights into the port of Caesarea, as captured Roman guards and citizens looked on in terror. Finally, the Emperor reached the makeshift palace that had been constructed only recently to house the pathetic Caesar, ruler of Rome. Slowly, the defeated King emerged from the "palace", with a look of sheer contempt on his face. He said nothing; he knew his time had come.
As Random Entity rode up to Caesar, he grinned. This was it: the dreams of his ancestors had come to fruition. The long war was finally over. The fallen Emperor, Caesar, simply stood there, while held by Babylonian Guards. He was loaded into a cart, ready to be sent back to Admantus for public execution. As Random Entity watched the convoy of troops head back down the road towards Viroconium, he silently decided that he had accomplished all he could in his reign. Moreover, he was growing old, and felt that the Empire needed a young Emperor again to help rebuild after the Roman Wars. He knew that he would retire.
Just then, a general approached the Emperor. "Sir, shall we garrison the port?"
"No," said the Emperor.
"Burn it. Let the fire from the ashes of the Roman leaders blaze as a warning to all who dare oppose the Babylonian Empire. We will always triumph."
The general nodded, and left. Dusk faded into night over the Eastern Ocean, but the black sky was illuminated by the flames of Caesarea, and of a fallen Empire.

Uh-oh
My turn didn't go too well, but here goes.

1120 AD: During the civil unrest following the late Random Entity's death, a frontier general, Magicbacon, with the support of many of Babylon's armies, siezes power in Admantus. After proclaiming his supremacy, Magicbacon declares that a new revolution is upon us. God has chosen the best among mankind to rule, and those are the ones who shall. Magicbacon declares the creation of an aristocratic landed class that is to be the social elite. Not surprisingly, this decision is met with anger and dissension in the empire, and it descends into Anarchy,
1130 AD: Magicbacon's troops succeed in putting down the rebellion. With his power assured, Magicbacon crowns himself King Magicbacon I. Knowing that years of war with Rome had left the cities of Babylon underdeveloped, the king ordered a massive building project to take place throughout the empire. Regrettably, as a rival empire had completed a great war academy ahead of the Babylonians, the kingdom was forced to concentrate on barracks for the troops, first and foremost. Admantus, which had been constructing the war academy, begins on a workshop which will reduce the cost of upgrading our units. An emissary from Xerxes arrives, demanding a map of Babylon and 52 talents. Not wishing to provoke war with Persia, the king aquiesed.
1140 AD: The people throughout the Realm show their appreciation of the King with great celebrations throughout the Empire.
1150 AD: The Realm enjoyed a bit of respite, with little of importance occuring.
1160 AD: The arrogance of the Greeks astounds us! They want our world map AND 440 talents in return for their unimportant map! We dismiss them rudely. Also, a Galley that left safe waters was sunk on the (previously) roman coast.
1170 AD: The city of Tarentum, as a result of the unhealthy environs, falls victim to a plague.
1180 AD: Little of note.
1190 AD: A new contact, Lincoln of the Americans, offers the secret of explosive powder in exchange for 440 talents in gold. We accept, and a key ingredient Saltpeter is already connected to all of our cities. Our alchemists begin work on chemistry.
1200 AD: *Snore*
1210 AD: Ditto
1220 AD: Persepolis has finished the Sistine chapel ahead of Babylon! Babylon begins work on a Palace to store up those... umm... sheilds. Many other realms begin work on Leo's Workshop, Admantus will finish it in 10 turns.
1230 AD: Just holding the fort.
1240 AD: The people, showing gratitude for my lenience, build great towers around my palace.
1250 AD: The proverbial fecal matter hits the equally metaphorical fan, as the treacherous PERSIANS declare war on Babylon. In a dastardly suprise attack, the Persians capture the city of Ravenna, also enslaving our workers stationed there. It is our belief that many of our cities will soon be under attack. Four regiments of Knights are placed next to Gordium, to besiege the city. More workers are lost near Tarentum.
1255 AD: While poring over situation maps of the conflict, Persian assassins burst into the throne room and slay the King. With the King dead, both the leadership AND the continued existence of the Babylon empire fall into serious scrutiny.

What gives? I even paid tribute to those bums! They've got musketeers defending their cities, but a great deal of their armies are made up of horsemen. I just fear for our cities should they be attacked by immortals.
