Events should have a concept of 'current location"
(Apologies of course if my topic has already been discussed to death.)
When an event triggers, there is often a specific pice of terrain involved. The event should be able to seelct a specific square with relation to that one (or randomly near it) to use in the event.
A simple event effect would be that when, say, freight truck is destroyed, the square it was on becomes polluted.
Another event effect would be to create an X near each Y that is killed.
