Americans are screwed
How can you win a battle w/ F-15s?
You can't bomb anyone to death and air superiority doesn't seem to ever intercept anything.
It would appear that you can only get a GA by wonder building.

I think they will fix air superiority in the next patch but cannot remember if/where I heard that. It is certainly a common enough complaint in the forum.
Also, the F-15's real power, I think, is its ability to bombard twice and with the twice the strength.

Well in that vein, the Brits are just as screwed. Their Man O' War UU can't kill anyone either. There goes your quick-guarentee for the Golden Age via UU 'victory'.

Au contraire, it is possible to find galleys and caravels when you have men o' war. You just have to attack with a 3:1 numerical superiority to make sure you win

Yes, in a situation that is vastly different from using frigates instead

Ahhh, touché!
Well, gee. A time where you need 3:1 odds for a victory sure seems like a Golden Age to me!

Well, I`ve played as Russians (have late UU too), and had my Golden Age way before I could get Cossacks, cause I built Great Library.
And the game seems very reluctant (or it`s impossible at all) to award 2nd golden age anyway, and it also seems to try to "arrange" it in the end of anciend/start of middle age.

You are only allowed one golden age per game. If you want, you can play as the Americans, build a wonder that expires one fourth of the way through the game(coloussus), and trigger your golden age when you have five cities!

Frankly, I find it impossible to build any of the early game wonders. The AI advantage it too large. Even with millitaristic civ and going to war right away, I cannot generate leaders early enough to beat the AI to building early wonders.
