Trouble exporting coal...
Has anyone else experienced this?
In my current game I have plenty of coal and try to trade some away to my friends.
-If I chose coal resource and ask what they will give for it, the game locks up.
-If I offer coal and chose 1 gold per turn as payment, my advisor says: "They would never accept this".
-If I try to give it to them as a gift they tell me that I am trying to cheat them, and sometimes the game locks as well.

I have no problems with other resources so I have no idea what this is. I have not tampered with the resources in the BIC file...
Thanks

this is a known bug and will be fixed in the next patch.

See this thread for firaxis confirmation:

At least you had the coal. All I managed to grab was 'fools coal'.

I researched steam power and didn't have any coal in my border. But there was a source just across my border with England. So I built a city right beside it and moved the border. But the English had moved a worker there just before this and started clearing the jungle.

I waited the 24 turns, then sent my own worker there to build a road. The very instant the road was built, I got the message saying the coal was exhausted! By what? No one could have used it until I got the road there!

Obviously, a vein of fool's coal.

Gotta love this game. I have to keep thinking around it.
