Resources change over time
Here's an original idea.
Just as in the national flags post, resources would change as time progresses to better reflect the era they're in. For instance; you don't see buffalo roaming all over the place in the 20th (21st now) century.
The resources could reflect the era the game is in.
Buffalo could go as follows
4000 B.C. - Wooly Mammoth
1 A.D. Buffalo
500 A.D. Horses
1000 A.D. Cattle
2000 A.D. Dairy Farm
Sound like a good idea?

Sounds like a great idea!
Maybe the buffalos, Mammoths and other species, would move from one are to another. For example if there is a lot of pollution in some area, the animals would roam to a cleaner place.
Sounds good ?

Hello!
Maybe. A generic "Animal" would be simpler, though it'd add less "athmosphere".
What disturbs me much more is Eskimos building Elephants. *That* should be fixed IMHO.

..also energy resources could change
with time (limits of oil, natural gas, coal)
we discussed about this in the Forum
